24-Hour Live Coco Cam: The Best Moments

24-Hour Live Coco Cam: The Best Moments

If for some reason you didn't stay up for 24 hours to witness every second of Conan's Team Coco Live Cam yesterday and this morning, the good folks at TBS have put quite a bit of it up on YouTube (in handy edited form) so we can all catch up on the most enjoyable publicity stunt since the McRib without losing any sleep. I watched some of it live yesterday and a lot of it today, and I have some favorites. I bet you do, too! But here are mine:

That Goddamn Dancing Taco
At first I was annoyed by it, then I was impressed with its dance endurance and then this stupid thing grew on me and I laughed my ass off, even though it made me feel old -- I can't even remember the last time I Stanky Leg'd my lettuce off.

'80s Bear Aerobics
A little uninspired hipster, sure, but before hipsters co-opted it, ironic bears doing random activities was pure Conan brilliance. Had it been '30s Bear Aerobics it would have been perfect (Conan's never had a preoccupation with the '80s like he has with old timey boxing and baseball), but then we wouldn't have had the same soundtrack, and I must admit that that weird vintage porn/keyboard music was some of the best weird vintage porn/keyboard music I ever did hear. Catch-22, I suppose.

Conan Hates Pierre Bernard's Painting
Aww, hi Pierre!

Conan Sloppily Eats an Apple While Andy Throws Crap at a Coco College Professor's Lecture
Delightfully absurd. This is exactly the kind of Conan humor I've missed.

And Just for Fun, The Stand-Up Showcase
9 out of 10 Biggest Loser contestants are played by Eddie Murphy, indeed. Though I'm mostly putting this in here for that poor, poor intern sitting there at three in the morning making up this audience of one.

Oh, and apparently the always terrifying and entertaining Jordan Schlantsky did a staring contest around 3:30 AM, but it's not on YouTube and I was asleep, so I missed it. Anybody catch it? I love that weirdo.

Obviously, this stunt was some kind of confirmation that Conan will be returning to his absurdist roots on his new show, which is great. We'd all already assumed that and would quickly find out whether or not that's the case once we watched the show anyway, but still -- this was pretty fun and great. Yay, new shows for people who got fired from their old shows!
