I bless the rains down on Caprica. It's gonna take some time to build the things we never have -- especially the robots. (They're complicated.)
Caprica: Season 1.0
This show about a futuristic society in which robots are developed for military purposes and people spend their spare time in massive virtual chat rooms stars Eric Stolz, which makes it some kind of wonderful in our book.
Blue Mountain State: Season 1
If you find Friday Night Lights to be too family-friendly, and Sam Jones's sex tape to be a little too hardcore, this raunchy college-football comedy series should be just right. It may also be the perfect companion series to Hellcats, for those of you who are even vaguely intrigued by that idea.
Survivor 3: Africa and Survivor 4: Marquesas - The Complete Seasons
Own a piece of history, including the origin story of the man future generations will know only as "Boston Rob."
Baseball: The Tenth Inning
Ken Burns's documentary goes into extra innings, covering the controversial years of 1992-2009. Also available as part of a reissue of the complete series, so you can experience the glory years before you hit the strikes and the performance-enhancing drugs.
Bones: The Complete Fifth Season
Cyndi Lauper. Robert Englund. Diedrich Bader. Zooey Deschanel. Seeing that list of guest stars, it makes me sad I stopped watching this show a couple of seasons back.
The Queen (mini-series)
Rather than covering a bad couple of months in the Queen's reign, like the 2006 movie of the same name, this 2009 mini-series showed her at five different points in her life, as played by five different actresses. Helen Mirren would have played one of them, but she was too busy playing an assassin, a wizard, another assassin and an owl.
Also out this week: Medium: The Sixth Season, Ally McBeal: The Complete Fifth Season, Ally McBeal: The Complete Fourth Season, SGU: Stargate Universe - The Complete First Season , Doctor Who: Dreamland, Ugly Americans 1, The Mary Tyler Moore Show: The Complete Seventh Season, Gunsmoke: Fourth Season - Volume 1, All in the Family: The Complete Seventh Season.
