Torchwood! Wonder Woman! Glee! Doctor Who! Broadway! Nerd alert!
In case anyone was confused about why the unlikely phrase "Justin Bieber-centric" was trending on Twitter over the weekend, it's because Glee was rumored to be doing a Justin Bieber-centirc episode. While Ryan Murphy says that's not true, there's still a rumor that Sam (Chord Overstreet) will start his own boy band, and sing a Bieber song or three. Please, please, please let the band be called "Chord Overstreet."
Those of you excited about David E. Kelly's impending legal superhero drama, brace yourselves: nobody wants to make a Wonder Woman TV show, so it's been canned. Sounds like a glass ceiling to me.
The new title for the next Torchwood is Torchwood: Miracle Day, and the plot is that nobody on Earth dies, starting with Bill Pullman as a death row pedophile who survives the lethal injection. Looks like everything's coming up Pullman!
Renewed by ABC: Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Modern Family, Castle, Cougar Town and The Middle. On the fence: Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters and V. Let them go, I say! I'd rather watch twice as many episodes of No Ordinary Family than any of those. And I hate No Ordinary Family.
Salma Hayek is producing a Wicked TV movie for ABC. It won't be a musical, but rather an adaptation of the original book, so don't look for former stars Idina Menzel or Adam Lambert to show up. Although that would be wicked awesome.
Guest-star news! Arrested Development alum and Archer voice Jessica Walter will be on Big Bang Theory as a department chair, and Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo will play an engaged couple on Hawaii 5-0. You win, Big Bang.
Sixteen of the 18 Survivor: Redemption Island cast members have been announced, leaving two holes to be speculated about. Current theories hold that they will be filled by two Boston Robs.
Doctor Who and his companion Donna are doing Shakespeare on the West End. And no, that is not a British euphemism for anything. As far as I know.
Good news for NBC: Saturday Night Live with Jim Carrey delivered its biggest ratings since Betty White hosted. Bad news for NBC: The Cape disappointed, with only 8.4 million viewers. If only they could have The Cape fight the Riddler, they'd be all set!
