Are you having a laugh? After reading through today's news you probably will...
Fresh from his "controversial" hosting of the Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais will be appearing on The Office as his character from the British series. Although it looks like Gervais will only be making a short cameo, it has me wondering, in a fight between David Brent and Michael Scott, which side Dwight would take.
The FCC gave final approval for Comcast to take over majority ownership of NBC Universal. I guess that might be a spoiler for this season's Kabletown storyline on 30 Rock. And for anyone who was worried, Comcast and NBC Universal will still own Hulu, but won't be able to remove NBC programing from it. So, even though I ruined the suspense, you will still be able to catch 30 Rock there.
In other NBC news, it looks like The Marriage Ref is getting put on hold to be used as backup in case the network's mid-season schedule starts to get shaky. Is NBC's lineup so bad they have to threaten us like this? Also, Law & Order: LA is being put on hold to give the show a chance to get back into gear after the previously reported loss of most of its cast.
For anyone still in mourning over Party Down, or even Veronica Mars, rejoice! Fox has picked up a pilot for a new Rob Thomas show centered around little league sports titled Little in Common. The network didn't want us to celebrate too much though, so they also picked up a new drama by Heroes creator, Tim Kring. Titled Touch, it will be a supernatural drama about a mute autistic kid who can see the future. Seriously.
What Fox is calling a "Bones spin-off," The Locator hasn't cast its title character, but Michael Clarke Duncan will be playing his sidekick. This will be MCD's first television series, and it's about time.
Larisa Oleynik, better known as Alex Mack, will be joining the Hawaii Five-0 cast soon as an ex-CIA analyst on the hunt for the show's big bad, Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos a.k.a. Iron Chef's Chairman). It's about time that show recruited a sexy actor.
The next batch of Amazing Race contestants have been announced. Let's play "Find the rage-aholic"!

You guys didn't make a bigger deal about the new cast of The Amazing Race? And I don't think anybody fits the "ragehole" niche. A few snippy a-holes, and the cheerleaders don't belong (Luke gave 'em second place for helping him out after he melted down on the final Roadblock). "The Amazing Race: Seven Straight Mariano-Free Seasons And Counting!"
