TWoP 10: Reality Shows That Need An All-Star Edition

Plenty of reality shows have done all-star editions (with The Amazing Race about to embark on its second one), giving players a second (or third) chance to make a first impression and/or win some money. In most cases, all-star editions are a fun way to pit the best (or at least the most entertaining) competitors against each other to see who really does reign supreme. Since Top Chef All Stars this season has given us a bunch of surprises about who can and can't take the heat, we'd like these other reality shows to follow suit and bring back some familiar faces for the first time.

10. Dancing With the Stars
They ranked the best dances last season, and brought back stars for Design-a-Dance, but we'd like to see what happens when you have Apolo Anton Ohno and Drew Lachey going head to head (or leg to leg). Who really is the best dancer? Let's also find a way to throw crazy celebs like Master P, Bristol Palin, Cloris Leachman and Marie Osmond into the mix. Someone could break a hip!

9. Celebrity Apprentice
Our dream cast would include Piers Morgan, Trace Adkins, Bret Michaels, Stephen Baldwin, Rod Blagojevich, Annie Duke, Melissa Rivers and Dennis Rodman. Piers would be constantly frustrated, Bret would just let it all ride, Rod would be thrilled to have more attention, Rodman and Baldwin would be crazy together, Trace would take it seriously and Annie and Melissa would attack each other over and over again. Trump would just stand by and take credit for all of it.

8. Project Runway
The show did a brief one-off special challenge with some of its past designers, but we'd like to see folks from the earlier seasons compete week after week to find out who can still maintain their originality and who will fall back into their old habits. Really, anything to have Daniel V. back on the TV.

7. So You Think You Can Dance
Last summer, we got to watch the "all-stars" dance with the newbies, but that didn't really pit star against star like we'd hoped. Russell vs. Twitch? Lauren vs. Heidi? Benji vs. Lacey? Pasha vs. Dmitry? We could do this all day.

6. American Idol
Who is the ultimate American Idol? How many of these people's names could we even remember? And once and for all we could settle the debate of whether Taylor or Ruben is the worst Idol title-holder. Naturally, Dunkleman would host.

5. America's Next Top Model
Let's face it: few of the models have done much of anything in the way of becoming an actual "top model." So with an all-star cycle, we could get a chance to hear how the panel really feels about models that are ancient (i.e. over 25) still being allowed to work. They'd practically have to set the show in a retirement community to include people from Season 1.

4. Rock of Love
Yes, we are well aware that Bret Michaels is engaged to be married, but we're not going to let a little thing like impending nuptials crush our dream of having another Rock of Love. Let's bring back the sexiest and smuttiest girls from the seasons and have them try and tempt Bret away from his future bride. Tacky? You bet, but that's what we love about this franchise. Marcia, Heather, Ashley, Farrah, the always classy DJ Lady Tribe and the girls that did the cooter shots are must-haves.

3. Bad Girls Club
The ladies from previous seasons may have played all nicey-nice when they did that best-fight special, but we've got a hunch that if you forced them to live together, the claws would come back out and we'd get some of the most insane hair-pulling in the universe. It would give Tanisha another chance to yell "Pop off!" and bang pots and pans around, but this time in Lea's face. Actually, anyone taking down Lea would be fantastic.

2. Celebrity Rehab
Dr. Drew himself says that most of the rehabbed celebrities will slip up and need on-going help. And yes, there's Sober Living, but that's more about the cast members from the same season living together. Instead, we'd be curious to see how Tom Sizemore and Leif Garrett would get along. Or Heidi Fleiss and Janice Dickinson. We know for sure that the return of any of those people might make Resident Technician Shelly lose her mind, which would be hilarious to watch.

1. Real Housewives
The Real Housewives of Everywhere? That's pretty much our dream show. Putting Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, NeNe Leakes, Camille Grammer, Kyle Richards, Tamra Barney, Vicki Gunvalson, Teresa Giudice, Danielle Staub, Kelly Bensimon, Kim Zolciak and Cat Ommanney all in one place for a month to see what happens would likely be such a sensory overload that we'd slip into a coma. But that's risk we're willing to take.
