Today's TWoP News: February 1, 2011

Today we learned just what evils CBS has been forced to do thanks to Charlie Sheen's love of nose candy.

Bad TV shows must be like gray hairs, you get rid of one and two more pop up in its place. To counteract the lack of new Two and a Half Men episodes CBS has ordered two new episodes each of Rules of Engagement and Mike and Molly.

File this under the category of "it's about time:" Kristen Bell has been cast in the new Showtime show House of Lies, already starring Don Cheadle and Ben Schwartz. If only this could have happen before When in Rome.

ABC Family picked up several new shows today. First is Switched at Birth, about two girls who were swit... yeah. Anyway one is rich and the other is poor and both seem unhappy. The other drama is titled The Nine Lives of Chloe King. Based on the book series of the same name, it is about a girl who gets superpowers and is hunted by "human assassins." I have no idea why the adjective "human" was necessary. I also, have no idea why ABC Family would pick up a show based on a book that doesn't even have a Wikipedia article.

Richard Dreyfuss will be in the last four episodes of Parenthood this season. We wish the regular cast and their collective patience all the best.

Because ABC has yet to get the hint from Perfect Couples or Traffic Light it's making the exact same show, but at least the network is casting Teri Polo of the Fockers trilogy and Mather Zickel from Reno 911!. While in more confusing casting news, TBS has cast Darrell Hammond in its upcoming show Hound Dogs. Does that show need Bill Clinton impressions?

Put any fears to rest you might have had. Will Ferrell will only be a guest star on The Office later this season. He is not going to replace Steve Carell. Consider this a bullet dodged.

V is ending on a cliffhanger. I don't think the show's producers get it. In order to get your fans to yell at the network for the need for a satisfying ending, you need to have fans.
