Kiefer Sutherland has signed up to both produce and star in the Tim Kring drama Touch. Sutherland will be playing the father of a mute autistic kid who can see the future. As far as torture alternatives go, I guess developmentally impaired precognition seems viable.

Who cares if some deep cable station has the rights to Firefly, SyFy has picked up the rights to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Is anyone who has bought the DVDs going to watch this? Is anyone who hasn't? Do we need to start reporting on every time Spike renews the TV rights to Star Trek Voyager?

And speaking of Firefly, the best pilot in the 'verse is coming back to television. Alan Tudyk has taken a role in the ABC pilot Suburgatory. Am I actually going to have to figure out how to say that title now?

Minnie Driver just can't seem to get away from off-beat crime shows. She has just signed up for a pilot in which she will play a single mom working with a "hustler" to solve crimes. If Driver plays it sort of like reverse-Mary Louise Parker, the show might actually be pretty good.

ABC Family has picked up The Lying Game. The show is based on a book by the same person who wrote Pretty Little Liars, but also sounds like a younger, more light-hearted version of Sarah Michelle Gellar's upcoming show, The Ringer. May the best dead twin win.

This is going to get weird. Piers Morgan is going to be interviewing Larry King this week. Smart moneys says that the show ends up just being an hour of icy stares across the table with King shushing Morgan every time he tries to break the silence.
