This week we finally get a classic bit of '90s kids television. Hopefully it holds up...
ReBoot: Seasons 1 & 2
The first all-computer animated television series, Reboot built on the tradition of stories like Tron to produce a world of characters living within a computer. Don't let that comparison or the series' bright look keep you from checking the show out, though. The citizens of the computer city Mainframe have a slightly more complex relationship with the users whose actions often lead to life and death trouble for the programs. These first two seasons are fairly breezy in tone, but Hexadecimal still gives me nightmares.
Leave It to Beaver: Season 6
This is the final season of the show that defines the 50s for us today. Wally is almost ready for college, the Beav is starting to grow up, but the show is as squeaky clean as ever. While the charm of the series is a bit dated, this is a must watch for anyone who wants to know where sitcom cliches come from.
Cake Boss: Season 3
If Jersey Shore and Ace of Cakes hooked up, this would be their unholy child.
Pioneers of Television: Season 2
A classy PBS documentary on the early days of television. Learn something, son.
