Just because we had mostly forgotten about Keith Olbermann, that doesn't mean we forgot what his TV show was called.
Keith Olbermann has announced that he will return to television on June 20. His new show on Current TV will be called Countdown with Keith Olbermann, because coming up with a new name would get in the way of his pretending to be a journalist.
Showtime's historical porn series The Borgias got renewed today. Because Showtime understands what HBO doesn't: Everyone likes an hour of sexy people having sex and only New Orleanians care about that much trumpet music.
Last week's Doctor Who premiere shows that BBC America is ready to claim more than reruns of Top Gear, and the channel is now co-producing a new show called The Fades. It sounds like an MTV version of Ghost Whiperer, but it is by the guy who did the UK version of Skins. Who knows if it will be good, but it does have Lily Loveless so it can't be all bad.
Good news: TBS is finally ending Tyler Perry's House of Payne. Bad news: TBS is picking up Tyler Perry's new show Meet the Browns. This new show is based on Perry's Why Did I Get Married series of movies, and will likely be just as well-written.
In tentative casting news Aaron Sorkin's HBO show is going to be casting both Alison Pill and Olivia Munn. I figured this show would have some humor, but watching Munn try to walk and perform Sorkin's dialogue is going to be pure slapstick.
CSI fans, I hope you like Elisabeth Harnois when she shows up this May. She was only supposed to be a guest, but she has been brought in as a series regular. Of course, the show hasn't even been officially renewed yet, so maybe her being a regular won't actually last that long.
Because you were all dying to know, SNL finally let us know who the hosts are for the last few weeks of the season. Surprisingly they might actually be pretty good. Tina Fey on May 7, Ed Helms on May 14, and we already knew about Justin Timberlake on May 21. Of course, that's how they get me. They book funny people, then force them to do lame song and dance numbers.
