Two and a Half Men is somehow still managing to stay in the headlines, even post-Charlie Sheen.
Judgment Daze: We Rate This Summer's Reality TV Judges
Some of us may still be recovering from the cultural moment that was American Idol, but it looks like there's no rest for the weary reality fan ahead. A plethora of talent competition shows, including The Voice, America's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance and last night's Platinum Hit, all take center stage this summer. But no matter how fantastic, absurd, or otherwise unpredictable their respective contestants are, it's the judges that give them their -- pardon the pun -- voice, not to mention their mood, sense of humor and overall vibe. And yes, they also give the shows their legitimacy (or lack thereof). Here's how each judge rates:
It's almost summer, so parents -- make sure your children get enough fairy blood so they don't burn while playing out in the sun.
Looks like it's still all Idol, all the time...
Today is not just Friday, it's a holiday weekend Friday, so let's not mess around. Below are my five nominees for the week's Most Heinous crown, followed by the big winner. I know I promised you some Bachelorette horribleness this week, but there were just too many awful people everywhere else, so Ashley and the fellas are going to have to wait a week. Can't wait!
With another regular television season coming to a close just in time for the Memorial Day weekend, we'd like to hold a memorial of our own for all of the characters and other elements that we'll miss the most from this year's ridiculously robust round of cancelled and concluded shows. Important note, however: This list is just about shows from the 2010-2011 season, so no putting, like, Firefly people or whatever in the comments, please. We know you'll want to, but just try to resist.
Americans seem to be much more uncomfortable with accents than I ever would've thought...
After a star-studded week of shows honoring the two-and-a-half decades of The Oprah Winfrey Show, its final hour aired today with just Oprah -- in a fabulous pink dress, dripping in diamonds -- alone on the stage, recalling the show's history and imparting some final words of wisdom and thanks to her unparalleled loyal audience. We joke a lot about Oprah, but I've loved the show since I was a kid, so I decided to watch and write a minute-by-minute account of the final hour of the most influential talk show of all time. Read and comment along, and we'll all get through this together.
It's a sad day for Elliot Stabler fans.
Reports are saying that Chris Meloni is done with his very lengthy run on Law & Order: SVU and while this is probably devastating news for die hard fans of that show, we're excited that it gives the talented actor a chance to spread his wings and do something else for a while. He was amazing on Oz and cracks us up on Sesame Street and in the Harold and Kumar movies (not to mention his sweater-fondling work in Wet Hot American Summer). So here are the other shows that we think should scoop Chris Meloni up stat.
