Today's TWoP News: Friday, May 27, 2011 Looks like it's still all Idol, all the time...

Scotty McCreery made $250,000 for his win, and Lauren Alaina took home $87,500...Lauren wants everyone to know she's not a dumb blonde... and Lee DeWyze was not at Wednesday night's show because he "wasn't asked" to be there. Awkward.

OWN has picked up eight episodes of the BBC reality show Don't Tell The Bride. It's about grooms planning their wedding instead of their brides. How great would it be if Stedman was one of the grooms in the pilot episode, planning his wedding to Oprah behind her back?

Other network news: ABC has assigned Better With You writing duo John Hoberg and Kat Likkel to create and executive produce My Formerly Hot Life, a half-hour single-camera comedy based on Stephanie Dolgoff's bestselling memoir of the same name, NBC has postponed the premiere of Love in the Wild to June 29 (the original date was June 1), and Lionsgate Television is producing a show about couples that swing. (I hope this doesn't need explaining, but just in case -- swing does not refer to a type of music or dance in this context.)

Rosanne Barr is in talks with Chelsea Handler to appear on NBC's Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea. Look! It's my two least favorite people in one news item!

The first full trailer for Syfy's Alphas has been released, as well as the first full trailer for ABC's Combat Hospital. Alphas looks good! The Heroes comparisons are unavoidable, so fingers crossed for Alphas to be more like Season 1 Heroes instead of Season 3. Combat Hospital is basically Off the Map in a war zone, pretty-but-uptight brunette lead and all.

Oh, thank you! I thought I was the only person in the world who hated Chelsea Handler.

I'm right there with you. She is horrible and not remotely funny.

Hi Rob,I am lokoing into a career in pet grooming and am trying to locate the top 3 hands on pet grrooming schools in the tri-state area (currenlty live in PA). I see online pet grooming programs but wanted to get your opinion on the top schools that provide hands on learning and applicable experience. Your advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Colleen
