What the Hell Is Lydia?
She got attacked and bitten by the Alpha (and Stiles adorably put himself in the line of fire to save her) but her bite isn't healing, yet she's somehow not going to die. Is she a werewolf hybrid that is really good at math? We'll have to wait until Season 2 to find out, but since we've only recently come to tolerate that character, having her in a coma for a while is fine by us.

Good vs. Evil
So the werewolf hunters have a code, but one of them turned out not to abide by it. And then some of the werewolves have decided not to attack human prey, but they are still victims of the hunters. And then other werewolves are just evil beasties who kill at random. We liked that within the two factions, there were characters who did both right and wrong, giving the show a layer of complexity we never anticipated.

She's Wiped Out
While we applaud Jill Wagner for finding a job where she doesn't have to talk about big balls all day long, we are really glad to see that her character had her throat brutally slashed. She wasn't exactly pulling her weight in the dramatic department, though she looked pretty good with a crossbow, so we're glad the show opted to get rid of her. Perhaps she could go back to Wipeout and shoot at the struggling contestants with a Nerf gun?

I Dated a Teenage Werewolf
We were a mite bit concerned that they would drag the whole Allison-doesn't-know-that-Scott-is-a-werewolf thing on and on, Superman/Lois Lane style, but in the final episode, Allison discovered the truth. She freaked for a minute (can't blame her) and then made out with him despite his unfortunate werewolf makeup (really can't blame her). They're an attractive couple of star-crossed lovers who are currently on a bit of an upswing (until next season, at least).

Burn, Alpha, Burn
Admittedly, the special effects for the entire final battle between the hunters, the betas and the Alpha were laughable at best, but it sort of gave the show some charm, like old episodes of Doctor Who or the first season of Angel. Still, even with the cheesy cheap CGI, it was great to see the Alpha set on fire, resulting in a char-broiled hot dog.

They've Got to Make Money Somehow
Shows aimed at teens really know how to work in the product placement, and they aren't even trying to hide it. Still, it was more amusing to watch Stiles tell a deadly creature that he admired his Mac and his AT&T wi-fi than it was to see them all pretend to be in love with the clothes at Macy's.

Alpha Takeover
While Scott wanted to have the Alpha cure him, Derek decided to killed it pretty viciously, taking his place as head of the pack and basically sticking Scott with a lifetime of awful full moons. We know this because he now has the glowing red eyes that are apparently an Alpha exclusive. And because he flat-out said it. This show leaves little room for misunderstandings. We kinda like not having to think too much about things during the summer months. Also, it seems that Derek bit jackass Jackson, so now Scott will have someone to actually compete against in lacrosse next year.

Stiles Is the Man
He's one of the most adorable sidekicks on TV, but in the finale, he really stepped up to deliver the funny with his goofy conversation with the Alpha. He also basically solved the murder of Derek's sister, defended the girl he was crushing on, stood up to his dad and used his tech abilities to track down a werewolf. Best of all, when given the choice to be even an even more awesome werewolf than his BFF Scott, he turned it down. He's got principles, or at least doesn't want all that body hair. We respect his choice either way.
