Huh, wonder how Kurt Sutter will react to this?
AMC has granted Vince Gilligan 16 more episodes to wrap up the misadventures of Walter, Jesse and the rest of the Breaking Bad crew. While the network has yet to announce how exactly those episodes will be divvied up, we can probably expect another two seasons, thus allowing star Bryan Cranston to win at least five Emmys for the same role.
Speaking of Sutter, we probably won't learn how the outspoken Sons of Anarchy creator feels about this Breaking Bad news, because he's gone ahead and shut down his Twitter account just days after posting a series of Tweets blaming The Walking Dead fracas on Gilligan and Mad Men's Matthew Weiner. That's probably good news for Sutter's post-Anarchy career prospects, but it'll also make all of our Twitter streams a lot less entertaining.
The Glee franchise takes another hit with the box-office belly-flop that was Glee: The 3D Concert Movie. Although we gave it the TWoP seal of approval, audiences stayed away and the movie eked out only a meager $5.7 million for an 11th place finish. Still, Glee overlord Ryan Murphy refused to feel bummed out, pointing out that the film cost almost nothing to make and that he's still "proud" of what they put onscreen. Yes, but can he say the same thing about his Rocky Horror episode?
At least Glee 3D bombing means we won't see a big-screen 3D version of the just-announced Real Housewives Live Tour, which will visit three cities -- Atlantic City, Chicago and Atlanta -- this fall. The show will feature cast members from the various iterations of Bravo's signature franchise talking about their experiences with an audience that shelled out between $50-$170 to watch people they can see for free at home. Daniel Tosh of Tosh.0 fame is discovering the perks that come with having one of the highest-rated shows on your network, perks like convincing said network to greenlight another show executive produced by you and two of your comedian pals. Comedy Central has ordered 10 episodes of Tosh's animated series Brickleberry, about a crew of bumbling forest rangers that try to rescue their national park, for a 2012 debut. Sounds like Yogi Bear without Yogi Bear, which is just a pointless endeavor if you ask us.
Before the new season of Falling Skies begins filming, Jessy Schram (who plays the currently-alien mind-controlled Karen on that hit TNT series) will perform some fairy tale theater in a guest-spot on ABC's Once Upon a Time. Schram will portray the slipper-obsessed Cinderella in one of the show's early episodes. The campaign to get Falling Skies star Noah Wyle on this show as Rumpelstiltskin begins...now!
If your most recent attempt at a cop show didn't succeed, try, try again. Shawn Ryan is bouncing back from the cancellation of The Chicago Code with a new series about a geneticist who learns that he may have the "psychopath gene" and subsequently enlists with the FBI to help round up rapists, murderers and other unsavory individuals. Ryan has a pilot commitment with CBS a.k.a. The Crime Network, where the still-untitled show will give viewers something to watch in between CSI marathons.
