Today's TWoP News: Thursday, August 11th, 2011

Strangely quite a bit of news this Thursday! Charlie Sheen's roast gets an MC, George Lopez's show gets cancelled, and The CW gets on the Glee train.

This should be good -- Seth MacFarlane is hosting the Charlie Sheen roast. They needed someone cruelly funny, and Seth MacFarlane is certainly that.

George Lopez on his cancellation: "We're not saying goodbye, we're just saying cable doesn't work." ... So basically, you're saying goodbye.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz has taken a page out of Fox's book and ordered a script for musical TV show. The working title is Acting Out -- it'll be a half-hour "summer camp comedy," and it's coming from Todd Graff, who worked on the cult hit Camp, and the slightly less awesome Bandslam. Well, no matter what, it'll be more consistent than Glee!

Attention, Pushing Daisies fans! Bryan Fuller is reportedly back at work on his adaptation of the 1960s monster hit The Munsters for NBC. Can Lee Pace be in this, too?

Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber will guest star on the upcoming season of CSI: Miami. I'm geeking out and swooning all at once.

The brilliant Sarah Paulson is set to reprise her role as Lynette's sister on Desperate Housewives for one episode. Sarah Paulson! The one person doing visibly well after Studio 60. (Matthew Perry, we still love you. We just don't love Mr. Sunshine.)

Yikes. A Walking Dead source "with knowledge of the situation" says AMC has been "terrorizing" the show's actors and their representatives to discourage them from speaking out on behalf of recently fired showrunner Frank Darabont. "They're scared," confirms another insider. "They're on a zombie show. They are all really easy to kill off." "Terrorizing" sounds a little dramatic, dear source. And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't actors always scared of being out of a job? That sort of comes with the territory when you decide to be an actor. Man up, Walking Dead cast.

Ugh. Roseanne Barr is apparently prepping for a comeback with a sitcom about "a close-knit blue-collar family living in tough economic times," much like her first show. Can't she just stay on her macadamia nut farm in Hawaii? Her whole reality show is about how happy she is there, and how happy she is to be staying out of the spotlight! We were happy about it too, Roseanne!

Post-My So-Called Life success! A.J. Langer is joining Private Practice in a recurring role. Welcome back, Rayanne.

Lifetime has ordered 10 hour-long episodes of The Client List, the 2010 telefilm that starred Jennifer Love Hewitt. Remember when she got nominated for a Golden Globe for that thing? That was weird.

Hawthorne's Vanessa Lengies is joining Glee's Season Three cast in a recurring role. For someone who wants to get back to the basics and focus on characters instead of storylines, Ryan Murphy is sure doing an awful lot of casting.

Top Chef has made some big changes for Season Nine -- Food Network star Emeril Lagasse has joined the Bravo show as a judge, along with lesser-known chef Hugh Acheson, and the show will no longer focus on just one location -- it will instead to feature three cities in Texas. Hmm. Usually, if it ain't broke...

Lifetime has given an eight-episode order to America's Supernanny, a U.S. version of the British show. Because what America needs is more bratty kids on television.

Eliot Stabler's SVU exit will be dealt with over "several episodes," and it will have an effect on the squadroom. As it should.
