Hot on the heels of J.Lo re-upping for another season of American Idol, ex-Idol judge Simon Cowell is reportedly in final negotiations to bring Mariah Carey onboard his new enterprise The X Factor. Carey's name was tossed around awhile back as a potential judge on the heavily-hyped FOX show, which debuts September 21, but that deal failed to materialize largely due to her duties as a new mom. Now Cowell hopes to recruit Mimi to act as a mentor to the show's contestants. Because who is more qualified to hand out career advice than the woman that made Glitter?

Following his tumultuous exit from The Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien signed a multi-million dollar deal with TBS to bring his act to basic cable. A happy ending, right? Not so fast, says The Wall Street Journal, which points out that the show's ratings have declined almost 60% since his powerhouse debut last fall. "TBS' pricey Conan O'Brien experiment is flopping," the article boldly states, to which TBS immediately said "Nuh uh!" and announced the various ways they were going to beef up the flame-haired comic's numbers. (Ways like running repeats of The Big Bang Theory as a lead-in to Conan two nights a week and developing a series of new shows that would better complement his particular brand.) Team Coco, if there was ever a time to rally around your idol, it's now.

Is there a doctor onboard the aircraft? There is now. ER veteran Goran Visnjic will join ABC's Mad Men-inspired '60s drama Pan Am for a four-episode arc. He'll play a Yugoslavian immigrant that struggles to choose between his communist upbringing and Western capitalism. In the U.S.'s favor, the airlines have significantly hotter stewardesses.

Although mixed-martial arts has yet to be legally sanctioned in several U.S. states (including New York), it remains one of the fastest-growing sports in the country and the TV industry is definitely taking notice. FOX just inked a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship brand to broadcast the Ultimate Fighter series (which previously aired on Spike) on their cable arm FX. In addition, the FOX network will carry at least four live UFC events a year in primetime or late night, with the first one scheduled for November 12, 2011. That will mark the first time that an MMA match will be broadcast on network television. Congratulations...we think.

Tattooed rocker Dave Navarro (whose previous claim to fame was marrying Carmen Electra and playing guitar for Jane's Addiction in that order) has been announced as the host of Spike's new tattoo competition series InkMaster. Created by the folks behind LA Ink/Miami Ink/NY Ink franchises, the winner of the show will walk away with a $100,000 grand prize and a feature in Inked magazine. They also get to remove the "Carmen 4Ever" tattoo from its hidden place on Navarro's body. C'mon, you know he's got one!

That's the hour of TV that will see the reunion of Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia) and James Marsters (Spike), cast here as a husband-and-wife that are in the middle of a spat. That doesn't sound particularly supernatural, but wait a second -- it turns out the wife is an honest-to-Sabrina witch and she's royally ticked off at her hubby. Ask yourself: WWBD?
