Quick, who's scarier: Dexter Morgan or Charlie Sheen?

Dexter: The Fifth Season
The fifth season of Showtime's popular serial-killer serial found our titular psychopath-for-good getting over his wife's death at the hands of the Trinity Killer and adjusting to being a full-time family man. With Julie Benz out of the picture, Julia Stiles joins the cast as a woman that Dexter saves from becoming another murder statistic who then goes on to develop her own fixation with killing the killers before they can strike again. Aw, isn't that cute? Dexter's got himself an apprentice!
Extras: Interviews with the cast and crew, bonus episodes of other Showtime series including Californication and Episodes.

Spin City: Season Five
Back before the tiger blood and the winning and those other one and a half men, Charlie Sheen was just a washed-up movie star looking to revive his career by joining a popular sitcom after its original star (Michael J. Fox) bowed out for personal reasons. (Hey, that doesn't sound all that different from Sheen's replacement, Ashton Kutcher!) As new Deputy Mayor Charlie Crawford, Sheen bickers and flirts with Heather Locklear and frequently gets in trouble for his bad boy ways. Any similarities to the actors real life are -- we're sure -- completely coincidental.
Extras: None. What, they couldn't get Sheen into the studio to record a commentary track or two? He's got nothing but free time these days. Then again, it's entirely possible that he just doesn't remember being on the show at all...

Outcasts: Season One
The latest series from the minds behind such acclaimed British shows as Life on Mars and MI-5, Outcasts takes place in the distant future when Earth has become uninhabitable, forcing mankind to relocate to a different terrestrial address. Settling down on the planet Carpathia, a band of intergalactic pioneers tries to recreate their lost civilization with predictably problematic results. Battlestar Galactica vet Jamie Bamber, who knows a thing or two about destroyed Earths, heads up a cast that includes Eric Mabius and Liam Cunningham.
Extras: A tour of the set and interviews with the cast and crew.

Also on DVD:
Cowabunga dudes! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Complete Season 9 is the penultimate season of the classic '80s animated series about a quartet of ass-kicking, pizza-eating mutant turtles. If you're looking for more contemporary cartoon action, check out Batman: Brave & The Bold: Season 2, Part One, the Cartoon Network series that pairs the Dark Knight up with heroes as Green Arrow and Captain Marvel. And Paranormal State: Season Five offers more real-life stories of small-town hauntings investigated by ghost hunter Ryan Buell.
