Belle gives it one last go, Football Head finally moves it to DVD and the Mobile Armored Strike Kommand keeps their world safe.
Secret Diary of a Call Girl: The Complete Fourth Season
It's Belle's last season being bad, so she's giving it all the old college try -- a relationship with her best friend, managing the escort business, and taking care of the 19-year-old Poppy. While her professional life flourishes, her social life takes a back seat. At long last, she has to decide what she wants and who she wants to be: Belle or Hannah. Worth checking out for Billie Piper's kick-ass performance, and for being reminded of the crazy fact that it all started with an anonymous sex worker's diary.
Hey Arnold! Season One
My all-time favorite childhood show is finally coming to DVD, and not a moment too soon. We've got Arnold, the idealistic, football-headed (and football playing) neighborhood kid, his chilled-out best friend Gerald, the original crazy bitch, Helga, who simultaneously hates and loves Arnold, Grandma and Grandpa, the pig, the headgear kid...the list goes on. All of these strange characters come together, and of course, shenanigans follow. (Stoop Kid's afraid to leave his stoop!)
M.A.S.K.: The Complete Series
You or someone you know probably had the toys at some point -- figurines from the show that was a combination of G.I. Joe and Transformers. Special vehicles make up the crime-fighting team called M.A.S.K., led by Matt Trakker, who battles the appropriately named bad guys, V.E.N.O.M. As far as cartoons went "back then," it was quality, with good storylines and solid animation.
Webster: Season 3
Another eighties throw-back. The sitcom centers around the teensy-tiny Webster Long, a Gary Coleman-esque troublemaker, and his adoptive parents. It was on air during the peak of child stars on TV, and during its third season, it hadn't quite lost steam yet -- it was still a reliably funny and endearing show.
The Hitchhiker: The Complete Collection
Finally, a complete series release of The Hitchhiker. After a couple snafus -- an HBO release, and then a move to USA and a toning down of explicit content -- the full thing is at long last coming to DVD. The 80s series follows the mysterious "Hitchhiker", identity unknown as he wanders, always encountering different kinds of people. Many, many actors got their start on The Hitchhiker, so keep a look out for Willem Dafoe, Bill Paxton, Carrie-Ann Moss, and more.
Also on DVD This Week
