As soon as those massive numbers came in for The Walking Dead Season 2 premiere, it was only a matter of time until AMC announced another year. The network made a Season 3 pickup official yesterday. So it looks like the series' current showrunner Glen Mazzara will be able to keep his job for awhile... though that's what we all thought about Frank Darabont following Season 1's boffo ratings.

In other pick-up news, CBS has announced full season orders for two of its new fall shows, Person of Interest and Unforgettable, while Showtime gives its critically acclaimed hit Homeland a sophomore season. Personally we forgot that Unforgettable was still on the air, but it just goes to show you to never underestimate CBS's successful procedural factory system, the occasional dud like that Criminal Minds spin-off notwithstanding.

NBC is getting into the Will Gluck business. The director of Easy A and Friends with Benefits sold a sitcom to the network, penned by Saturday Night Live scribe Jessi Klein, about a "colorful" father/daughter relationship. "Colorful" means "vaguely uncomfortable" here, right?

One can never truly predict the mind of Ryan Murphy, but Kristin Chenoweth is pretty sure her days as April Rhodes on Glee are done. Probably just as well since she's got a new full-time gig on ABC's midseason show GCB (a.k.a. Good Christian Belles) and, like Glee itself, April wasn't any good after Season 1.

It used to be that 30 Rock was the primary guest-star destination for past and present Saturday Night Live stars. Now, Up All Night is giving Tina Fey's fading sitcom a run for its money; following appearances by Will Forte and Jorma Taccone, Up All Night has booked Molly Shannon for an appearance as an "incompetent" producer on Maya Rudolph's talk-show-within-the-show. We're waiting for that Finesse Mitchell cameo.

Steve Jobs mania continues unabated. Walter Isaacson's new biography is already a best-seller and next Wednesday, PBS will air the first documentary retrospective about the Apple founder's life, Steve Jobs -- One Last Thing. Steve Wozniak, Ross Perot and will. i. am. (!) are among the subjects interviewed about Jobs' life and influence.
