The Golden Globes start broadcasting soon. Follow our liveblog in 3... 2... 1...
8:00: And here comes Ricky. What will he open with?
8:01: "So where was I?" Being funny we hope.
8:02: "The Golden Globes are to the Oscars are what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton." An easy Kardashian joke.
8:05: Ricky seems to be holding back a bit. Penis and beaver jokes? Really? Audience seems a bit more with him though. Maybe just waiting for the hammer to fall.
8:06: Kardashian again? C'mon Ricky, move on. The rest of us have.
8:07: An insight into what's on Ricky's TiVo -- Boardwalk Empire and Homeland. One out of two ain't bad.
8:08: Wow, we're done with the monologue already? Ricky really is trying to be nicer this year.
8:09: Gervais: "Have you seen The Tourist yet?" Depp: "No." That was Ricky's finest moment. Asking the tough questions...
8:10: First award of the night: Best Performance by an Actor In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. Go Albert Brooks! Choose Albert Brooks.
8:11: Nope, Christopher Plummer wins Supporting Actor instead. The only decent part of that overrated flick.

Nice, understated opening. Hopefully it picks up.
Laura Dern? Fucking really? Ugh.
And... now Kelsey Grammer. Just... terrible. Terrible.
Kate Winslet does have a Grammy, for spoken word album in 2000.
Laura Dern? Really...I don't get it. Damian Lewis should've won but Grammer really is fantastic on "Boss".
I think Jake presented My Week With Marilyn because of his friendship with Michelle Williams..not really all that random

Take that, Elton!
Ungh,soo... how long will people pretend that Ricky Gervais is funny? I'm fairly certain that a stab in the hand with a fork would be funnier than his 'comedy'
Ungh, how long are people gonna pretend Gervais is funny? Just because he's a condescending Brit doesn't make him 'funny'.
sorry about the double post, but apparently the site's comment service is being a bit ... iffy again
Oh good grief.
I thought it was a pretty good night. Very well balanced. I just realized how much I love the Game of Thrones score however. And I love, love, love Peter Dinklage. Very well deserved. The Descendents ...not so much. I saw it, enjoyed it, and promptly forgot it.
Yours is a celver way of thinking about it.
That inigsht's just what I've been looking for. Thanks!
