Don't make Raylan angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.
Justified: The Complete Second Season
In its second season, the FX serial Justified made the leap from "pretty good" to "can't miss" TV, thanks to a season-long storyline featuring Margo Martindale (who deservedly won an Emmy for her role) as ruthless marijuana dispenser Mags Bennett. The rest of the ensemble continued their excellent work, from Walton Goggins's reformed (or is he?) white supremacist Boyd Crowder to Timothy Olyphant's steely-eyed U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. Here's hoping Season 3, which commences January 17, continues to be appointment viewing.
Extras: Outtakes, deleted scenes, two featurettes and a Blu-ray only roundtable discussion with the cast and crew.
Mildred Pierce
Todd Haynes' first foray into period melodrama, 2002's Far From Heaven, earned him numerous awards and accolades. The same response greeted his lavish HBO miniseries, which starred Kate Winslet as the title character of James M. Cain's 1941 best-selling novel. Boasting the same sumptuous production values and terrific cast that made Heaven such a favorite, Mildred Pierce won five Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Lead Actress. So don't be surprised if Haynes revisits that era again sometime in the near future...
Extras: A commentary track with Haynes and other members of the series' creative team, a making-of featurette and "Inside the Episode" vignettes.
Transformers: The Japanese Collection
After the original Transformers serial ran its course in the U.S. back in the '80s, the Japanese animation house Toei produced a whole new series that never aired on these shores. Divided into three parts, "Headmasters," "Super-God Masterforce" and "Victory," the show introduced a number of new robots-in-disguise into the mix and spun the Transformers mythology off in surprising new directions. This box set includes every episode from the series' run with the original Japanese audio tracks still in place.
Extras: Galleries of original artwork.

Look for such prominent guest stars as Robert Vaughn, Dick York and Burt freakin' Reynolds.
