Looks like Chuck is absolutely, positively, unquestionably, for real over.
Chuck fans (believe it or not, they're still out there) may still be in mourning about the end of NBC's spy serial, but the show's star Zachary Levi is understandably moving on. The actor booked a lead role on the Fox fall pilot prospect Let It Go, playing a young husband who puts up with the ups and downs of marriage, as well as the antics of his best friend and his sister-in-law. Good thing Levi has all those sweet kung fu moves from Chuck that he can bust out if those two piss him off too much.
Not content to allow the BBC to monopolize the contemporary Sherlock Holmes market, CBS has cast Trainspotting's Sick Boy, Jonny Lee Miller, as the star of Elementary, a modern-day revisiting of some of the British detective's classic cases. Now we're waiting for a Sherlock-off between him, Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Jr.
Should it ever return (and we believe it will -- we have to) Community will come back with a professional expert. We're talking about John Hodgman of course, author, genre fan (check out his cameo in Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica) and regular Daily Show contributor. Hodgman will play an as-of-yet unspecified role in an episode set to air towards the end of the Greendale gang's junior year.
Word around the House campfire is that the show's cancellation had more to do with negotiations over licensing fees at the studio/network level than a desire among the show's cast and crew to move on. Be that as it may, we still bet that Hugh Laurie has his passport and plane ticket back to England ready to go as soon as the final "Cut" is called.
Lock up your sons and (especially) your daughters, 'cause Kenny Powers is coming back to town. The disgraced baseball player and all-around Worst Human Being Alive (which is why he's awesome) resurfaced with an open letter to Tim Tebow that was first published on Grantland. Choice excerpts from the letter include: "As Yogi Berra famously said, 'it's like Deja Vu came all over itself again.'" and "Even though he's hooking me up, I still see it's kind of a cocksucker move on Jesus's part." HBO's documentary series about Powers's exploits, Eastbound & Down, returns this Sunday and he'll personally punch you in the face if you don't watch.
