And in this timeline... Community comes back!

Our long national nightmare is finally over. NBC has announced that Community is returning to the airwaves effective Thursday, March 15 at 8p PM. Of course, as the TV Gods giveth, so too do they take away: to make room for Community's return, Parks and Recreation is going on a five-week hiatus, returning in late April at 9:30 PM after Up All Night finishes its season. Naturally, we'd prefer to have the Greendale/Pawnee Power Hour, but we'll take what we can get.

New Girl adds another impressive name to its galaxy of guest stars. Jeanne Tripplehorn will appear in a two-episode arc as the ex-wife of Jess's new flame, Russell (Dermot Mulroney) who is none too happy with their fling. You'd think that after all those years on Big Love she'd be a little more open to the idea of sharing her (former) husband with other women.

In other guest star news, the original Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund, books a role on an upcoming episode of Criminal Minds alongside Juliet Landau a.k.a. Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Englund will play a detective who helps the crew solve a series of killings in Oregon, while Landau pops up as the ghost of a deceased actress. If she sucks anybody's blood, we've got the number for Joss Whedon's lawyer on our speed dial.

Rising starlet Brie Larson scores her first big sitcom gig in an untitled series from writer/director Nick Stoller. Larson will play the girlfriend/co-worker of an ad agency drone (Michael Angarano) who breaks up with her, but still has to see her around the office very single day. So it's basically what an Andy-and-Erin centric version of The Office would be, huh? Remind us not to watch it.

On the other hand -- and in other United States of Tara alumni news -- we'll totally watch Working Class Hero, a new Fox animated series from Patton Oswalt and Mike Barker set in a world where superheroes are ill-paid government flunkies. Here's hoping Oswalt manages to bring his Ratatouille director (and the genius behind The Incredibles) Brad Bird onboard as a creative consultant.
