Californication's Carla Gugino has signed on to star opposite Sigourney Weaver in USA's pilot drama Political Animals which premieres this summer. Gugino will play a journalist trying to destroy the career of the Secretary of State plated by Weaver.

SNL alum Will Forte signed on as the lead in Fox's comedy pilot Rebounding. The actor will play Danny, a man mourning the loss of his fiancé with help from his less-than-competent friends on his pickup basketball team. If he's not dressed in drag, I don't know that it can be any good.

ABC has hired a slew of new actors on to the networks pilots. Karen LeBlanc, Jacinda Barrett and Drew Van Acker have been hired as leads in Beauty And The Beast, Zero Hour and Devious Maids, respectively. All of these shows sound like they're going to be yawn-tastic, so let's see how this plays out.
