Spoiler alert: Shane may be gone, but Jon Bernthal lives on. The former Walking Dead star has bounced back from his stabbing and shooting in last night's episode by officially joining the new TNT series L.A. Noir. The move reunites Bernthal with Frank Darabont, who created Dead before being removed by AMC and now heads up Noir. Bernthal will play John Teague, a cop in post-WWII era Los Angeles who is at the center of an elaborate plot that pits the city's cops against crime boss Mickey Cohen. Hey, you know what would make this potentially promising series even better? Zombies!

The geeks on The Big Bang Theory will come face-to-face with a true blue science master when Stephen Hawking guest stars on the CBS sitcom in April. The network isn't saying how Hawking will be featured in the episode, but we like to picture him descending out of the sky in a jet-powered wheelchair. (C'mon, you know he has one.)

Stockard Channing will join Mandy Moore's new ABC sitcom as the former pop star/Disney princess's onscreen mom. We buy that parentage.

Oprah's OWN network finally achieved ratings records and all it took was Winfrey nabbing a one-on-one with a dead pop star's offspring. Oprah's conversation with Whitney Huston's daughter Bobbi Kristina attracted some 3.5 million viewers, a number that more than doubles the network's previous highest-rated program, an episode of Oprah's Next Chapter featuring an interview with Joel Osteen.

Finally, if you're tearing your hair out wondering what's going to happen next on Homeland, the good news is that a Season 2 premiere date has been scheduled. The bad news? You've gotta wait until September 30. At least we have Game of Thrones and True Blood to tide us over until then. (Oh yeah, and Dexter comes back that night as well, but who cares about that anymore?)
