Move over Al Lewis, there's a new Grandpa Munster in town.

Man, how is it possible that Eddie Izzard is old enough to be a grandfather? The cutting-edge, cross-dressing British comedian and actor has joined NBC's Bryan Singer and Bryan Fuller-led remake of The Munsters -- which has been re-titled Mockingbird Lane for its current incarnation -- as Grandpa Munster, a role originated by Al Lewis on the original series. If fellow '90s comic Janeane Garofalo scores a supporting role as Grandpa's love interest, we're really going to feel old.

This is always the way it goes isn't it? Some amateur lands a leading role on a reality series and then starts to imagine him or herself a thespian. Rocker-turned-The Voice judge Adam Levine is in talks to appears on Season 2 of American Horror Story as one half as a couple described only as "The Lovers." After spending two seasons observing Christina Aguilera's bizarre fashion parade, Levine is accustomed to seeing scary things.

Lisa Edelstein and Jennifer Morrison couldn't be tempted back for the looming House series finale, but Olivia Wilde will be doing a drive by appearing as Thirteen in the final episode, set to air on May 21. Not a bad get, but we'd be even more impressed if the writers found a way to bring Kal Penn back from the dead.

Speaking of coming back from the dead, the Two and a Half Men writers have cast Kathy Bates as the ghost of the late, great Charlie Sheen. Bates-as-Sheen will appear to Jon Cryer's Alan in a heart attack-induced vision in an April 30 episode. Honestly, if we had a near-death experience, Kathy Bates would be the second-to-last person we'd want to see appear in a hallucination. The absolute last? Charlie Sheen.

Finally, Smallville's Allison Mack has booked her first major role since the long-running young Superman series wrapped. She'll have a recurring role on the cult FX series Wilfred as a love interest for Elijah Wood.
