Don't let the dinos bite you on the way out, Shannon family! Actually, on second thought...

Somewhere men are laughing and somewhere dinosaurs roar, but there is no joy in Terra Nova -- the mightily budgeted Fox sci fi series has struck out after a single season. 20th Century Fox TV, which produces the show, plans to shop it around to other networks, but the chances of renewal seem as slender as the show's dino F/X budget. But if they do somehow manage to land a Season 2, we hope it opens with the entire Shannon clan being eaten -- that would save the producers some money and keep us from having to spend more time with America's dumbest TV family.

Even as the Fox network cuts one of its big fall shows, its cable arm FX renews the much-loved series (both by us and others) Justified for a fourth year. And we didn't even have to give up our kidneys to pay for this renewal!

Guess Connie Britton won't be back for another round of American Horror Story. Instead, the Friday Night Lights vet is Nashville bound, joining the cast of ABC's new fall drama. Britton will play an aging country singer that's forced to tour with a hot young singer (Hayden Panettiere) in order to keep her career afloat. So it's basically the TV version of the Gwyneth Paltrow flick Country Strong? Switching Paltrow out for Britton sounds like an upgrade to us.

ABC has revealed the celeb/dancer partners for the new season of Dancing with the Stars, which premieres on March 19. We're especially looking forward to watching Jaleel "Urkel" White cutting a rug with two-time winner Kym Johnson.

Let's finish off with a few more bits of pilot season casting news. Meryl Streep's daughter Mamie Gummer nabbed a leading role on The CW's medical drama First Cut, while Anthony Anderson returns to comedy after a detour into drama with shows like Law & Order and The Shield starring on NBC's sitcom DILFs about overgrown kids that have become parents themselves. And after aiding Emily Van Camp in her Revenge plot, Margarita Levieva moves over to HBO's Luck, where she'll play Nathan Israel's sister, Sarah. That's right folks... Luck is really still getting a Season 2. HBO doesn't have to care about little things like ratings -- they're not TV, remember?
