Eden's World: It's a Small One (After All)
Truth be told, I did not specifically remember little Eden Wood out of all the other pageant children on Toddlers & Tiaras. I also don't entirely understand why Logo, of all networks, decided to give this seven-year-old her own reality show, but I assume it has something to do with connections from her "King of Reality" manager, Andrew Sullivan. Whatever the case, the pilot was fun and mindless enough except for one obviously glaring problem: Not enough Eden!
Seriously, every moment with this little girl is hilarious and adorable. Those who hate the more grueling parts of T&T can rest a little bit easier knowing that Eden appears to be truly into her budding career as a full-out international superstar -- you'll note that she even "retired" from the glitz world at age six. (Hee!) Her mom Mickie lets her play and have the childhood Eden really seems to want and generally seems less heinous than your average stage mom... but she's not the central character here, either.
The problem with Eden's World is that focuses most of its attention on the conflict between Eden's dowdy small-time manager Heather and the aforementioned walking-Fred-Armisen-impression Andrew. Both fight it out over who is the better choice for managing Eden's career and I couldn't seriously care less, because I am not watching Heather and Andrew's World.
Anyway, instead of overthinking this, here are the best moments of Eden's time on screen and thus the reasons why I'll be watching the next episode:
-When she walked into poor bullied Adrianna's house with all of the "WE LOVE EDEN" signs and THed, "It felt like it was just my heart pumping!"
-Her fabulous little black veiled hat.
-Her sassy purple hat.
-Her time spent encouraging Adrianna, specifically when she led the group of teenage girls in a dance number that ended in doing the robot.
-Her classy silver hat.
-Singing "Country Queen" shoeless on top of the table at A&M.
-How sweet she is to her fans.
-"She had the smile! She had the look! She had the dress! She had the [inaudible]!"
