More L.A. Complex? It's truly gonna be a great summer.
Well, this makes us happy at least. The CW has picked up Season 2 of the Hollywood-by-way-of-Canada primetime soap The L.A. Complex for a summer run beginning July 17... this despite the fact that Season 1 generated epically bad ratings. Whatever -- we know we'll be watching this guilty pleasure so that's like, what, a guaranteed 0.1 percent rating?
If you can't get enough of Falling Skies and Dallas during their televised airings, TNT will be posting web-only chat shows following each episode. Cameron Mathison will be hosting Dallas Round-Up, while Wil Wheaton tackles the Skies recap 2nd Watch. Both web series debut after their shows' premieres on June 13 and June 17 respectively.
Good news Parenthood fans! Jason Ritter is returning to the series for its fourth season to finish out that whole "proposing to Lauren Graham" storyline. However, he won't be back as a series regular, so perhaps don't send the happy couple a congratulations card just yet.
Now that David Simon has endorsed it, we can't not direct your attention to Funny or Die's awesome musical version of The Wire. We're booking our tickets immediately.
Finally, we bid a sad farewell to an undisputed mater of science fiction, Ray Bradbury, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 91. Author of such seminal books as The Martian Chronicles, The Illustrated Man and Fahrenheit 451, Bradbury also oversaw a pretty great '80s cable series The Ray Bradbury Theater, which brought a number of his tales to life on the small screen. (The adaptation of "The Veldt" was particularly memorable.) We'll miss you at the San Diego Comic Con, Mr. Bradbury. Thanks for all the years and all the stories.
