Get your (animated) adventure on.

Adventure Time: The Complete First Season
One of the few animated series that can be enjoyed equally by both kids and their parents, Cartoon Network's Adventure Time follows the fantastical exploits of 14-year-old adventurer Finn and his magical canine pal Jake. The anything-goes storytelling and colorful cast of characters is complemented by creator Pendleton Ward's inventive animation style, which brings a distinct video game aesthetic to the usual cavalcade of cartoon wackiness. If you've dismissed Adventure Time as being pure kids' stuff, you might be surprised to find yourself burning through the 26 episodes included on this DVD set on your own time.
Extras: Commentary tracks on select episodes; a music video; behind-the-scenes featurettes and animatics.

Dark Shadows: The Complete Original Series
If the only thing you know about Dark Shadows is that it's the title of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's latest collaboration, this comprehensive, but pricy box set will give you the full story behind the peculiar pop-culture property, which started its life in 1966 as a daytime soap opera on ABC. Initially just the story of a strange family, the series took a sudden turn for the supernatural early in its run when it introduced ghosts into the proceedings. Then, one year in, it acquired a vampire in the form of Barnabas Collins (played by Jonathan Frid), who quickly became the show's most popular character. From there, Dark Shadows went all-in on the horror and fantasy elements, adding witchcraft, time travel and parallel universes to the mix. By the time it was canceled in 1971, the series had produced 1,225 episodes, all of which are housed inside a special commemorative coffin. Depp not included.
Extras: An autographed postcard of Frid's Barnabas, cast and crew video interviews, bloopers and outtakes and a booklet with stills and episode summaries.

Warehouse 13: Season Three
With Eureka set to conclude its five-season run next week, Warehouse 13 will soon be Syfy's longest-running dramatic series that's still on the air. The show's third year saw Smallville's Aaron Ashmore joining the cast as the newest member of the Warehouse 13 crew, which guards the titular storage facility that's packed to the gills with all manner of magical knick-knacks and tchotchkes. Among the artifacts appearing this season were Jimi Hendrix's guitar, Beatrix Potter's tea set and a glass jar belonging to the Donner Party. Um... is that really something our federal dollars needs to be spent on protecting?
Extras: Cast and crew commentaries; a bonus holiday episode; deleted scenes and a gag reel; interviews with some of the show's guest stars; and the ten-part animated web series, Of Monsters and Men.

Also on DVD:
If you missed out on your chance to buy the big Jem and the Holograms box set that came out last year, you can grab the third and final season in a standalone edition via Jem and the Holograms: Season 3. Or if you can't convince your child to relive the kiddie shows of your youth, the more contemporary iCarly: The Complete Fourth Season is also available. Finally, A&E releases collected sets of two of their shows, Duck Dynasty: Season 1, which revolves around a Louisiana family that's build an empire on their line of duck callers -- yes, you read that right -- and The Glades: Season 2 a procedural set against the backdrop of South Florida.
