Revenge has never looked this chic.
Revenge: The Complete First Season
We were rooting for this addictive, sudsy ABC drama to succeed in a big way last fall, but weren't sure if America would tune in for an old-fashioned prime-time soap filled with double-crosses, betrayals and, above all, revenge! Fortunately, the viewing public turned out in droves, making Revenge one of last season's biggest success stories. Before its sophomore year kicks off on its new night and time (Sundays at 9pm), get caught up on the saga of Amanda Clarke a.k.a. Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp, whose perpetually blank expression is used to great effect here) and her attempts to clear her dead daddy's name by taking on the powerful Hamptons family -- including matriarch Victoria Grayson (Madeline Stowe, in the second-most deliciously evil turn last year after Jessica Lange on American Horror Story) -- that betrayed him. Memo to high-schoolers: Just so you know, as much fun as Revenge is, watching Season One won't help you ace your test on The Count of Monte Cristo.
Extras: Commentary on the pilot episode with VanCamp and series creator Mike Kelley; deleted scenes and bloopers; a pair of music videos; and four featurettes, including one devoted to one of our favorite supporting characters Nolan Ross.

NCIS: The Complete Ninth Season
NCIS: Los Angeles: The Third Season
Consistently ranked amongst the highest-rated shows on TV, the NCIS franchise will likely be with us until the end of time... or at least as long as network television exists (so another five years then). The flagship show just wrapped its ninth season, with Mark Harmon continuing to solve military-related crimes with the help of his dedicated crew of experts. Meanwhile, the spin-off L.A.-based series finished up its junior year, giving the world yet another opportunity to marvel at the fact that Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J actually make a pretty good team of crimefighters. While you'll never see these shows pop up in any major Emmy categories, they represent something even more valuable to CBS. Money.
Extras: Both sets come with audio commentaries on select episodes, various behind-the-scenes featurettes and deleted scenes.
The Closer: The Complete Seventh Season
House: Season Eight
A week after airing its series finale, TNT's long-running procedural -- which helped kick-start the network's run off successful original series when it premiered in 2005 -- collects all 21 episodes from its seventh and final year on DVD. Although it got a bit long in the tooth towards the end of its run, star Kyra Sedgwick remained a reason to tune in; her performance as Brenda Johnson paved the way for a number of other female-led procedurals, including Closer spin-off Major Crimes starring Mary McDonnell. Speaking of stars triumphing over their material, Hugh Laurie almost made up for House's otherwise dire final season by giving his all in even the dumbest episodes up to and including the underwhelming series finale. At least that last episode was partially redeemed by the coda, which gave fans what they really wanted all these years... House and Wilson riding off into the sunset together as friends and heterosexual life partners. RIP House. At least we'll always have your good seasons in syndication.
Extras: The Closer comes with a roundtable discussion with the cast and crew, as well as music videos, a gag reel and unaired scene. House offers three featurettes, including a reflection on the series finale.

Anyone want to place a bet on how long it takes Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy to free herself from her Mike & Molly contract to put her newfound clout into appearing in movies and/or shows that are actually... you know, good? We give her two years. Fans of classic legal dramas can look forward to spending more time with a master TV lawyer courtesy of Perry Mason: The Seventh Season, Vol.1. We're not ashamed to admit that we watched the direct-to-video movie Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Summer Vacation over and over again when it was first released in 1992. Time for a Babs and Buster Bunny reunion, Warner Bros. The recent mo-cap movie version didn't exactly set the domestic box office on fire, but Tintin devotees can complete their collection of the hero's globetrotting small-screen journeys with the release of The Adventures of Tintin: Season 3.
