BLOGS
We enjoy the guilty pleasure of Toddlers & Tiaras as much as anyone, but we're more than a little skeptical about the show's upcoming spinoff Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. While it was fun to see her talk about a dollar making her holler for a few minutes, it's not necessarily something we need to see on a weekly basis... or for a full hour. Even if she is picking up roadkill at the same time. We might be proven wrong, but judging by these recent reality TV spinoffs, we're guessing that won't be the case. Here are the worst stinkers:
10. RuPaul's Drag U
We love RuPaul's Drag Race and we appreciate that the ladyboys are trying to inspire ordinary women who need a little help with their wardrobes... but while the drag superstars are fantastic on their own, this series lacks the competitiveness that brings out their well-manicured claws.
9. Chicagolicious
While Jerseylicious has all the wonder that is Jersey (including the tacky wardrobes, insane smoky eyes and thick accents), Chicagolicious is just more starved-for-attention famewhores doing hair and being bitchy to each other. Granted, the same could be said about Tracy and Olivia, but we know and love to hate those fighting-in-Sonic-parking-lot girls; we don't need this Windy City hair don't.
8. It's a Brad, Brad World
Brad Goreski was so cute as Rachel Zoe's assistant, but his own show was excruciatingly painful to watch. He tried to morph into a fashion mogul, wore some ridiculous clothes, fought and made up with his strange boyfriend and was sorely missing the Zoe catchphrases. Some people are better in small doses.
7. Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding/Tanisha's Getting Married
We'd have happily watched a one-hour wedding special for either Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kim Zolciak or Bad Girls Club's Tanisha, but entire series running up to their respective nuptials was more than anyone could really be expected to take. Especially since the two shows practically aired at the same time. We'll stick with My Fair Wedding, thanks.
6. Baseball Wives
These baseball-adjacent wives (honestly, one of them once hooked up with a player and wasn't even an ex-wife) were so contrived and ridiculous that we wanted to chuck a fastball in their general direction.
5. Big Ang
Big Ang is an amazing specimen of humanity but her show leaves a lot to be desired. We far prefer her doling out advice in her gravelly voice to the Mob Wives. More fighting that way, and far less of her giant fake boobs in age-inappropriate bikinis.
4. The Pauly D Project
Take the most laidback cast member of Jersey Shore and have him and his friends go to Vegas and let the nothingness ensue. It was like Entourage, but worse.
3. Dance Moms Miami
Without Abby Lee Miller, should you really even bother with a show about demanding dance moms? The answer is clearly no. There was not enough screaming, not enough drama and not even any offensive Laquifah dances.
2. Snooki & JWOWW
We had hopes for these two besties carousing in Jersey City, until Snooki found out she was pregnant and then the whole show turned into Nicole whining and being weird, while an increasingly impatient Jenni drinks enough to compensate for both of them. Also, we didn't need to know that much about Roger's sex (or lack thereof) life.
1. Eden's World
Here's the real reason we're mostly dreading Here Comes Honey Boo Boo: Little spitfire Eden charmed/horrified us with her demanding diva ways on an episode of Toddlers & Tiaras, but then she "retired" and decided to become a pageant consultant. What a horrible fate for someone under the age of ten. Yet, this show might still have kept us entertained if it had actually focused on the titular child, instead of all the horrible people that surrounded her.
