She's baaaaack!

After two years off from cajoling plus-size contestants into shedding pounds by any means necessary, Jillian Michaels has returned to The Biggest Loser for its 14th season, which kicks off in January. The new edition will also lower the age requirement to 13, although those contestants on the younger side of the spectrum can't be eliminated from the series and won't be weighed on national television.

No use pinching yourself; that Beverly Hills Cop series is now one step closer to reality. CBS has officially committed to producing a pilot based on Eddie Murphy's signature franchise to be overseen by Shawn Ryan of The Shield and Terriers fame. The series would revolve around Axel Foley's Beverly Hills-based son, Aaron, as he attempts to make a name for himself in his father's old stomping grounds. Murphy himself has agreed to guest star in the pilot and Ryan had better be putting out feelers to Judge Reinhold and John Ashton as well. And hey, it's probably worth giving Jonathan Banks a call too since he's no longer busy with Breaking Bad...

In an announcement that surprised absolutely no one thanks to early leaks, Kelly Ripa officially welcomed Michael Strahan as her permanent co-host on Live! this morning. In response, rumored candidate Seth Meyers announced Michael Vick as his new Weekend Update co-host.

FX announced that its signature comedies It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League will be back on October 11, along with another round of Brand X with Russell Brand. So that's two out of three shows to add to your DVR.

Finally, we offer our condolences to the family and friends of actor Michael Clarke Duncan, who passed away yesterday at age 54, following complications due to a heart attack he suffered in July. In addition to his big-screen roles (most notably his Oscar-nominated performance in The Green Mile), Duncan was a regular presence on television, appearing on such shows as Chuck, Two and a Half Men and, most recently, the Bones spin-off The Finder.
