Does reality TV need another hero? The Rock thinks so.
Wrestler-turned-action movie staple Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is following fellow action icon Sylvester Stallone into reality television. Johnson will executive produce and host TNT's The Hero, an eight episode series that strands ten normal individuals in a house together and then challenges them to perform feats of mental and physical strength. So it's pretty much exactly like Big Brother then? Well, at least that show has lasted longer than Stallone's ill-fated boxing program The Contender.
Here's another snapshot to add to your Jersey Shore photo album. Snooki and Jionni posed with their newborn Lorenzo for an upcoming People magazine feature. Get used to being on camera kid -- this is going to be your life for awhile.
AMC has premiered the official poster for the third year of The Walking Dead, which gives us a glimpse of the season's major location: a zombie-infested prison. To paraphrase Jaws, Rick's gonna need a bigger gun.
Good news Anglophiles! PBS is treating Downton Abbey addicts to a short glimpse of the show's upcoming third season, set to premiere in January. Among the tantalizing details we learn from this minute-long clip, it appears that O'Brien is lavishing attention Downton's newest manservant (and her nephew) Alfred, while leaving former partner-in-crime Thomas out in the cold, Edith has a (much older) love interest, Mr. Bates is still in the Big House and the Crawley's fortune is entirely tapped out. Oh yes, and the squabbles between Shirley MacLaine and Maggie Smith are going to be epic.
Dead sitcom walking Whitney adds a new series regular to its second season line-up. Comedian Tone Bell will play a bartender who dishes up drinks and good conversation to Whitney and Alex at a new bar the duo will start hanging out. It's a good way to prepare for life after the series gets cancelled and they'll all day to hang around in bars.
