I'm sure the folks at I Can Has Cheezburger? are just lovely people when they're not straining to act and making obviously line-fed awkward jokes in front of cameras, but as it stands now, CEO Ben and his team of misfits (don't get me started on big-haired Paul) are absolutely intolerable at worst, and at best seem like blatant rip-offs of Parks and Recreation characters (in particular, Forrest being Ben Wyatt and Sarah being April Ludgate). The whole pilot episode was painfully scripted and pathetically dull -- and I should make it clear that I really, really like cats a lot, so it's not like I'm coming in with some kind of anti-Cheezburger agenda. I will say, though, that I find the concept of LOLwork not only confusing and dated, as BuzzFeed has now dethroned I Can Has Cheezburger? in terms of "crap that was user-submitted/stolen from other places on the Internet, and then organized and presented in a 'funny' way."

And while I would ordinarily suggest that Bravo, assuming they honestly believe in the "characters" of the staff, just go whole hog and invest in making an actual scripted comedy starring this motley crew, MTV tried that exact tactic a few years ago with The College Humor Show and still failed, despite having talented writers, decent actors and funny scripts. I'd also usually recommend that the cabler just stick to its patented docusoaps about terrible people being somewhat serious at work, but lately they've been dwindling on that end, too. With two new horrendous shows now airing, I say Bravo should just cut this losses, bring back NYC Prep and be done with it.
