The CW is cooking up a Vampire Diaries spin-off titled The Originals all about Klaus and the Original family. This sounds pretty bad in terms of what we actually enjoy about TVD, but on the bright side, Secret Circle's Phoebe Tonkin will star.

Over on network TV, Jason Katims is making a TV update of About a Boy for NBC (how does this bode for Parenthood?), Parks and Recreation's Mike Schur and Dan Goor are creating a comedy pilot for Fox where Andy Samberg stars as a detective, while over at CBS Jim Gaffigan got a pilot order based on his real life.
