Closing time/One last call for paper/So finish your printing and doodles.
Mark the date on your office calendar! The Office will close its doors for good on May 16 with the show's 200th and final episode, which will definitely not feature Steve Carell. Great! That leaves more screentime for Brian the Boom Guy.
Always one with an eye for great material (we're speaking sarcastically, of course), Brett Ratner is developing an animated series based on the Facebook game,FarmVille. His next TV project? A stop-motion version of "Words With Friends."
With movie stardom a no-go despite repeated attempts, Emma "Niece of Julia" Roberts is giving TV another try. She'll headline the Fox pilot, Delirium, a sci-fi drama set on a version of Earth where America is a totalitarian state and citizens line up to receive a cure for the plague known as "love." Sounds like the kind of place Fox prez Rupert Murdoch could call home. Meanwhile, Aussie actress and two-time Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver has joined the cast of the CBS comedy The McCarthysas the mother of a big, crazy Irish Catholic family in Boston. In other words, it's The Donnie Wahlberg Story.
In casting news that thrills our immortal souls, Frances Conroy will be back on the third season of American Horror Story, rejoining other returning champs like Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe and Sarah Pauslon. (Does she get to keep those awesome Lady Death wings?) Season 1 regular Taissa Farmiga is also returning to the show after declining to be committed to Briarcliff.
With Fringe over and done with, John Noble moves on to a one-shot appearance on The Good Wifeas an old client of Alicia. Can he be charged for crimes committed in a parallel universe?
What's even stranger than The CW having made a competitive reality series based on Musical Chairs? The fact that they are bringing it back for another season. The horribly named Oh Sit! will return on April 15, when it will replace the departing (and not likely to return) The Carrie Diaries.
