The sinking of Smash continues.
After an already sparsely attended premiere, Smash sank even lower during its second week, which begs the question: if Katherine McPhee is singing in a theater and no one cares enough to see it, does she make a sound?
Kristen Wiig will be dropping by the revived Arrested Development when it hits Netflix in May. She'll play the young Lucille Booth, before she grows up to be Jessica Walter. This means that Andy Samberg is gonna be the young George Bluth Sr.
Time for more pilot casting news! After hanging out with a very large, very blue tick, as well as Andy Richter and, most recently, some criminal minds, Paget Brewster is giving the spy trade a try. The actress will star in ABC's Americanized version of the British series Spy as the ex-wife of the central dad-turned-spy, played by Rob Corddry. Elsewhere, Sung Kang enlists with the Fox series Gang Related alongside Ramon Rodriguez. Mandy Moore has signed onto the ABC comedy Pulling as one of three, thirtysomething women cracking wise about their professional and personal lives. And finally, Jason Lee finds another excuse to put off that Comic Book Men cameo by joining the CBS procedural Second Sight, another UK-to-USA conversion about a detective with a disorder that grants him... well, second sight.
Because the Oscars gig was already taken, Conan O'Brien will be hosting the White House Correspondents Association Dinner instead. Great... yet awards show audience that will be laughing harder than the people in the Dolby Theater.
As if it wasn't already obvious enough from the Season 3 finale, Lily James will be joining Downton Abbey's fourth season as a regular to make up for the twin deaths departures of Jessica Brown Findlay and Dan Stevens. We can't wait to see how Julian Fellowes writes James out when she gets sick of being on the show as well.
