Oh By Gosh, By Golly, It’s Time for Janice D. and Holly (to Talk I’m a Celebrity)

Last Thursday, we saw the elimination of two different cast members from I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!: original supermodel Janice Dickinson and Hills star Holly Montag. Of course, the celebrities later voted to bring Holly back for one more day -- just long enough to get her into her underwear, of course -- but she was quickly sent packing again. Before Holly's one-day return, we got to sit in on a conference call with Holly and Janice, so while we weren't able to ask them about the one getting chosen over the other, we were able to ask Holly about Sanjolly, Heidi and Playboy and Janice about the granola bar incident, Jon Lovitz, her vagina and Jon Lovitz. You can't wait, can you?

Human Resources: Toby and Holly Talk Season 5 of The Office

Human Resources: Toby and Holly Talk Season 5 of The Office

For years, HR sad sack Toby has been a thorn in the side of The Office manger Michael Scott, not allowing him to have fun because the "fun" is usually mildly sexist, or racist, or both. Well, the Season 4 finale saw Dunder-Mifflin bid a fond (on Michael's part, anyway) farewell to Toby as he left for Costa Rica, and a lukewarm welcome to his beautiful and goofy replacement, Holly. In anticipation of the September 25th premiere of the new season, writer/producer Paul Lieberstein ("Toby") and Academy Award nominee Amy Ryan ("Holly") held a conference call where reporters got to ask them all of the questions we were dying to know about Season 5. The best parts are of the call are below, so enjoy! (That's what she said!)

5 Other Sylvester Stallone Characters That Need a TV Show

No longer content with reliving his past glories on the big screen and on Broadway, Sylvester Stallone is now expanding his nostalgia tour to television. News dropped yesterday that Sly is in talks to bring John Rambo to television. But why stop there? Here are five other Stallone characters that could easily headline their own series.

Bachelor Pad: Most Awkward Moments From the Reunion

Bachelor Pad: Most Awkward Moments From the Reunion

The second season finale of the trainwreck known as Bachelor Pad aired last night and the episode itself was kind of forgettable... the only worthwhile thing that happened was that Michael and Holly decided to take Michelle and Graham to the finale with them instead of Vienna and Kasey. (Yes, Vienna was crushed because her perfect rose record was demolished.) The rest of the time was spent with the pairs flying around in some Cirque Du Soleil harnesses to impress former Bachelor alums Trista, Jason and Ali (carried onto the stage by Roberto). But the reunion? That was where the fun actually started. Here are the highlights:

The Talk: Our View on the Show’s Debut

The Talk: Our View on the Show’s Debut

The latest entry into the world of daytime chatfests started yesterday afternoon. Just what the world needed! Actually, I'm probably more inclined to watch this show than The View, but mostly because of my undying fascination with Julie Chen. Seriously, even in seasons when Big Brother sucks, I still watch to see what she's wearing. And while I usually can't catch The Early Show, I can totally DVR The Talk and watch it while I'm fixing dinner (and by that I mean calling for take out).

The Resurrection of Michigan J. Frog (and The WB)

The Resurrection of Michigan J. Frog (and The WB)

Given its blatant catering to the youth of America, I was always stunned by the WB's use of Michigan J. Frog as their mascot. The (then) 40-year-old cartoon character was most famous for belting out old-timey music like "Hello My Baby" and "The Michigan Rag," and was not at all as well-known as the rest of the Looney Tunes stable... and probably the only one not already licensed out to a T-shirt company, which is likely why Warner Bros. chose him. Of course, since the network's demise in 2005, no one has seen hide nor hair of him, so I'm curious if he'll make a comeback now that The WB has resurfaced as a website, The WB.com, where you can watch all of your favorite WB (and Warner-produced) shows. Somehow I doubt it.

The Closer: New Season En Fuego

by Lauren Gitlin July 14, 2008 1:13 pm
The Closer: New Season En Fuego The premiere episode of the excellent TNT drama The Closer is tonight. As I mentioned in today's GTC, it's kind of schlamazing. In a nutshell: Brenda and Fritz have moved in together and are still adjusting to cohabitation and its attendant maelstrom. A photojournalist is trailing Brenda -- and getting in the way of her investigation, which raises some interesting questions about voyeurism and the moral responsibilities of the press. At the center of the action is an arson crime that sees the return of season one's homicidal pyromaniac Billy Croelick, whose chemistry with Brenda is ... sizzling. In anticipation of the TV event of the, um, week (?), I had the opportunity to do a little round-table thingy with the show's star Kyra Sedgwick, whose no-BS New York gal personality stands in sharp contrast to the spitfire Southern sweetheart Brenda Johnson. I guess that's why they call it "acting." Here are the highlights:
