Buffy Summers' Re-Animated Corpse

If you're a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, you may remember a while back that there was talk of doing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer cartoon. Some concept art was drawn up, and a pilot was made, but then it was never spoken of again, and the pilot was apparently sent to the bottom of the Hellmouth. Well, someone call the Slayer, because the pilot has returned from the dead! ...Too cheesy? Yeah, that's what I thought. Look, someone found the pilot, okay?

Buffy Fights for Europe

Buffy Fights for Europe

The good news: Buffy the Vampire Slayer is getting a new video game for the Nintendo DS. The bad news: right now it's only going to be available in Europe. The weird news: A TV show that went off the air over five years ago is getting a video game release on a major handheld system, and not even in its country of origin. Can they do that?

TWoP 10: Best TV Politicians

Hail to the Chief! Well, the Vice Chief at least. HBO's Veep kicks off this Sunday and we can't wait to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus ascend to the second highest office in the land, not just because this is Elaine Benes we're talking about, but also due to the fact that it's sadly still all too rare to see a female politician elected to televised office. As Veep's first season unspools, we fully expect Louis-Dreyfus's VP Selina Meyer to become one of our favorite TV politicians. In the meantime, here's are our current picks for the best political characters to hold elected office on TV. (That latter requirement is why you won't find our favorite Deputy Parks Director and current Pawnee city council candidate, Leslie Knope, on this list. If she beats Bobby Newport in the election, though, she'll instantly jump to the number one spot.)

TWoP 10: Spinoffs That Were Better Than Their Original Shows

TWoP 10: Spinoffs That Were Better Than Their Original Shows

We're not sure that the world really needs a spinoff to Criminal Minds, but then again, we didn't think sub-divisions of Law & Order were necessary and SVU and Criminal Intent proved us wrong by being far more enjoyable than their mothership. And while spinoffs may not always grab us right off the bat (like NCIS: Los Angeles), sometimes a new series just needs a little time before it starts improving upon its predecessor. Case in point: The City returned this week with new characters and a compelling new focus that made it far more watchable than the now totally contrived LC-less The Hills. But these aren't the only shows that have been better than their originals. Here's our look back at the best spinoffs from the past two decades:

Computer Geeks: A Not-So-Proud TV Tradition

Computer Geeks: A Not-So-Proud TV Tradition

After watching last night's hysterical Season 3 premiere of The IT Crowd, I started thinking about computer geeks on TV, and how there really aren't that many. There are a lot of science geeks, like the physicists of Lost and The Big Bang Theory, but usually it's all about the math, and all they need is a dry erase board. In honor of the unsung heroes of the keyboard (computer, not piano), I thought I'd run down some of my favorites, past and present.

The Six Sexiest TV Vampires Ever

The Six Sexiest TV Vampires Ever

With True Blood premiering this weekend, I was inspired to take a look back at the hottest bloodsuckers to grace the small screen. I have little doubt that TB's own fanged Bill will be joining this list in the coming weeks, if they stick at all close to the smokin' hot books (which are filled with seriously smutty vampire sex... and I mean that in the best possible way), and judging by the first two episodes they kind of are. So here's a look at the other cold-blooded creatures that can make your blood boil... with or without the help of those fancy glamor things.

New Veep Candidate a WB Fan?

New Veep Candidate a WB Fan?

I normally stay away from politics (well, unless they are on 24 or The West Wing) but I couldn't help myself when we saw that Sarah Palin (John McCain's running mate) had give all her children unusual names (Track, Bristol and Trig? Really?) and that two of the girls just happened to share names with famous TV witches. No, there's not a Sabrina or Samantha, but instead she's named them Piper and Willow (see clips after the jump if you have no idea who we're talking about, or are suffering through withdrawal). Palin is only 44 and clearly could have been a fan of the addictive WB dramas, and been inspired to give her kids these TV-centric names. Seems too unusual to just be random. Now do you think it is just a coincidence that a probable fan of The WB is plucked out of relative obscurity (she lives in Alaska) the very same week the WB launched their new site with these shows on them?
