We're hooked on Bravo's Gallery Girls, mostly because the ladies of the cast have been so consistently terrible since the pilot that, like a car crash or a Honey Boo Boo Child, we cannot look away. In this short first season, we've met so many awful people and seen so many crappy work environments that we're left with a long list of questions that we really hope are answered before the season finale in three weeks. If anyone has any explanations for us, we'd love to hear them, pronto.
In the latest of Bravo's string of TV shows that aren't about Real Housewives in title, but do circulate around a group of over-privileged idiots, Gallery Girls premiered last night. The series is about several unpaid interns who work at various mediocre galleries throughout New York City. Based on both the pilot and the season preview, there seem to be some turf wars, money problems and probably a lot of other things that have absolutely nothing to do with art or anything remotely transcendent brewing.
Thank goodness for our returning shows, because otherwise this would have been a tough TV summer. While Teen Wolf, Suits, True Blood and Breaking Bad have all delivered week after week, most of the new programming of the last few months has left a lot to be desired. Breaking Pointe was fun and we're oddly obsessed with the surreal Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, but too many other freshman series were underwhelming at best. Here's what let us down the most:
We want to include the Amish dentist who ripped Rebecca's teeth out of her head with some medieval torture device while holding her head down and no anesthetic, but since we didn't see him, he's off the hook... sorta. And well, same goes for the unseen excessive idiot who had toilet paper covered in pricey Swarovski crystals for a party on Bling It On, but know that we think she's horrible.
If we were giving out awards for idiot of the week, we'd have a tough time picking between Big Brother's Danielle and Survivor's Zane, but luckily we're just focusing on bad, not dumb, behavior.
Even though it was Labor Day weekend, people still worked hard at being obnoxious.
You'd think these awful people would take a summer vacation at some point, but no.
While June from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has developed into the most fascinating person on TV, these other people were just horrible.
