They could've called this The Real Housewives of Staten Island, but despite all appearances to a similar franchise on another network, this is VH1, and I guess Mob Wives is a catchier title. Then again, Renee Graziano (clearly the star of this hot mess) tries to deny the existence of the mob, but then speaks at length about the code of the "underworld" and how her father always got her gifts that fell off the back of a truck. There's some careful parsing of language here, but besides that and learning about hating "rats," the first episode didn't have a lot to offer.
Well, this is just a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who wants to work in television.
We're tempted to put all of the people responsible for Duets on this list for making such a crappy show, and getting us to watch by putting the adorable Kelly Clarkson on it, but looking up their names would mean we'd have to invest even more of our time in that terrible mess.

More often than not, looking back at a TV season just reminds us of all of the ways we were let down, either by disappointing shows or by cancellations of series we enjoyed. But while the 2011-12 season has had its share of setbacks -- like Smash, which had a promising pilot and then immediately went into a downward spiral -- there have also been quite a few unexpected twists that made us happier than we ever imagined.

Shangela was inspiring as a role model to a young diva on Toddlers & Tiaras, but leave it to the Dance Moms stars to act like reprehensible people around small children.
