I am legitimately bummed that this is the final season of Teen Mom with Amber, Farrah, Maci and Catelynn. Much as I have come around to enjoy the ladies of Teen Mom 2, last night's two-hour premiere was a cold hard reminder that we've only got so much time left with our O.G.s. Here are the premiere's highlights:
It was initially disappointing to find out that Teen Mom 2 would take away precious screen time from our beloved Teen Mom, but as it turns out, after two solid seasons, the second installment of "Look How Depressing the Lives of the 16 & Pregnant Girls Are Now" gives Teen Mom a run for its money in several ways -- we're even slightly excited for the recently announced Teen Mom 3. If, however, you only have room for one teen baby mama drama in your life, here's how the two current series stack up:
To celebrate the illustrious return of some of the most horrifyingly despicable people on reality television, we've dedicated this week's entire edition to the cast of Teen Mom 2 because there were just so many awful people to choose from the season premiere. Don't worry, Real Housewives and Real Worlders… we'll still have you on our radar when we return to our regular format next week.
It's a bad week to be getting married, or even just be engaged.
Our hero of the week is Tim Gunn, for being classy while telling several bitter Project Runway contestants off for daring to say the show was fixed. We actually really like him when he's angry.
We're hoping those ladies from the Real Housewives of New Jersey really upped their energy for the upcoming reunion because their stupid back-and-forth fighting about next to nothing really didn't merit them even one spot on our list this week.
We're leaving Ken from Project Runway off our list this week because he was able to contain his utter hatred for the judges… somewhat. But let's just say it is never a good sign when your mom knows that you are like Jekyll and Hyde and can turn into a beastly monster at the drop of a hat.
Again, we're starting off with some kind thoughts as we learned this week that perpetually awesome hosts Tim Gunn and Cat Deeley were even more awesome than we had previously believed. First, it was revealed that Cat was responsible for the amazing Jasmine making it to the Top 20 (well deserved!) and then we watched Tim Gunn delicately diffuse a potentially volatile situation with Ken without even breaking a sweat. Both are total pros.
Special shout-out to our reality hero of the week: Bebe Wood from The New Normal, who did a guest video appearance on the RuPaul's Drag Race finale and reprised her Little Edie impression. She's just freaking adorable. The rest of these people... decidedly not adorable.
This week's list is filled with people who wasted our valuable TV watching time. Don't they care that they are taking up hours that could be spent rewatching episodes of Game of Thrones?
