Louis C.K. Talks Louie Season 3, His Best Friends and Jerry Seinfeld

Fans of Louis C.K. and his FX sitcom can understand why I can't recommend the series enough; Louie is great. To promote tonight's Season 3 premiere, Louis C.K. took a press call yesterday to answer a few questions about what we'll see in coming episodes. To spare you spoilers and a lot of the same queries about why the character who plays Louie's ex-wife is African American -- hint: it's because she's a talented actress -- I've pulled out the interview highlights, which are entirely free of dick jokes (unfortunately).

Super Bowl 2014: The Best & Worst Commercials

Super Bowl 2014: The Best & Worst Commercials

Usually if the Super Bowl is disappointing, at least the commercials are a highlight. This year, it felt like a failure all around with only a handful of ads leaving even a remote impression on us, while some of them were just awful. And it probably didn't help matters that the majority of the spots were released a few days early, taking the anticipation factor out altogether. Instead, the only real highlight of the night (unless you were a Seahawks fan, in which case, congrats!) was Bruno Mars (with the Red Hot Chili Peppers) and the calming ticking of the 24 teasers that made us excited for that show's return. Here's what you missed if you (wisely) opted to watch Downton/Sherlock instead of the big game.

TWoP 10: Best Apartments on TV

The upcoming Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 is built upon the premise that people would deal with a crappy bitch of a roommate in order to live in a really great place. And you know what? We know the feeling. For the privilege of living in the following current and classic TV rental units, we'd pretty much cut off our right arms, or at least put up with someone who leaves wet towels all over the place or forgets to take out the trash.

Curb Your Enthusiasm: Seems Like Old Times

Curb Your Enthusiasm: Seems Like Old Times

Honestly, I have a love/hate relationship with reunion shows. Part of me is so excited with anticipation to see what my beloved characters are up to now, but there is always such a letdown when it just isn't the same as it used to be. So I was more than a little skeptical about this pseudo-Seinfeld reunion on Curb Your Enthusiasm. However, this show just really nailed it. Having the stars playing "themselves" talking about their characters was sort of this trippy meta thing that really worked out better than I ever could have expected. I was practically giddy when they all wound up in the same room together at the end.

Today's TWOP News: March 6, 2009

Woohoo, it's Friday! And it's finally time to ask the question that's been on everyone's minds (okay, maybe not everyone's, but still!) all month: who watches the Watchmen? The answer: not you, if you're reading this. So kill a couple minutes with these TV newsbites before heading off into the night to check out Billy Crudup's giant, blue naked body, or get drunk, or whatever else you may have planned for the weekend. Here at TWoP, we don't judge.

Oprah To Bring a Much-Needed Spotlight to 30 Rock

by Mindy Monez September 4, 2008 11:24 am
Oprah To Bring a Much-Needed Spotlight to 30 Rock The all-powerful Oprah Winfrey is in talks to lend a stuntcasting hand to our beloved 30 Rock, the greatest show on television that hardly anybody is watching. She's thisclose to playing herself in an episode this fall, though it's not clear what her storyline will be. I for one hope she just shows up at TGS as a representative of The Black Crusaders, the group of highly powerful African-Americans who terrorized Tracey Jordon at the end of Season 1. Not so sure how down Oprah would be with that idea, but the mere fact that she's agreed to be on the show in the first place probably means she's aware of The Black Crusaders storyline and isn't too terribly offended by it. Or The Black Crusaders are real, and she's just come to disperse disinformation about them. I'm leaning towards the latter, because conspiracies are fun!

Emcee of His Domain

Emcee of His Domain

First, Jay-Z sampled the musical Annie in "Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)." Then, Danger Mouse mixed Jay-Z's Black Album and the Beatles' White Album to make The Grey Album. Now, in the latest bit of what I like to call "stunt-sampling" (although there may actually be a word for it that I am not cool enough to know), a new, free rap album is available for download that samples music and quotes from Seinfeld. No, it's not Judgement day, although if you want to start praying, go right ahead. It certainly couldn't hurt.
