Couldn't stomach Ricky Gervais? Didn't feel like sitting through three-hours of drunk celebrities handing each other statuettes? Check out this handy winner's list, as well as our finely-documented liveblog and live tweets, too.
It's the start of movie awards season, and we're already dreading this particular self-congratulation fest since the incessant commercials running for the ceremony make us cringe. They're bringing Ricky Gervais back to say crazy things, but no one liked it the last couple times he did it. We don't get it. So while we have to suffer through the night in real time (because it is our job), there are a few things that could actually make us enjoy it.
Shockingly, watching the People's Choice Awards was not extreme torture... not the whole time, anyways. Kaley Cuoco was a perfectly fine emcee, and her relative lack of fame actually worked when it came to hosting. For those of you who missed the ceremony, here are the highlights and lowlights of what you didn't see.
It's awards season again, which means that we're mostly flummoxed by the people who come up with nominations for the various prizes. Yesterday, we were scratching our heads over the fact that the SAG Awards had picked Suits' Patrick J. Adams for a Best Actor nom instead of Homeland's Damian Lewis, while today we're wondering how anyone could think Boss had a better season than Breaking Bad. But hey, at least the Hollywood Foreign Press Ass gave the gut-wrenching and brilliantly performed Homeland its due, along with showering Downton Abbey with four nominations. But how did Community and Parks & Recreation get overlooked in the comedy nominations? And how is Alec Baldwin nominated again? And who thinks Mireille Enos is a good actress on The Killing? Anyway, for our initial thoughts on the Globe noms, read on. Fair warning, there's a lot of Community outrage coming your way.
The wait is finally over! Let's see who Mad Men and Modern Family beat, and bask in the glory of having clear eyes, full hearts in our complete up-to-the-minute winner's list for the Primetime Emmy Awards.
Counting down the minutes folks! The live blog starts at 8 sharp.
8:00 - And we're off! How will tonight's opening skit compare to last year's great "Born to Run" homage? I can never remember whether it's okay to like Jimmy Fallon now or not, but that was a pretty great beginning. Bonus points for the Jon Hamm/Jorge Garcia cameos.
8:01 - Yay Leonard Nimoy! That's a good way to start, for sure.
8:02 - Hmm, yeah I prefer the Springsteen already. C'mon Jane, showtunes are soooo 1995.
8:03 - Oh Jeremy Piven. We won't miss you at all.
8:04 - I like that they don't even let Nick Offerman be his actual self. That's how giant a shadow Ron Swanson casts now.
8:05 - Awww, couldn't we have seen more FNL? I know Mad Men is probably winning Best Drama, but give those boys a victory lap!
8:06 - Opening skit grade: C+. Some fun cameos, but definitely not on par with last year. Sorry Jane. Look forward to your monologue though!
8:09 - And Jane becomes the first TV person to hit up Martin Scorsese for work. The perils of sitting in the front row. Strangely short monologue.
8:10 - The EmmyTones, huh? Happy with five out of the six of them anyway. Who the hell let Wilmer onstage?
8:11 - Late night show host duel! I woulda thought Fallon would be more of a scrapper.
8:14 - Wow, Julie Bowen beats out Sofia Vergara for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. How much friction will that cause on the set tomorrow morning? Consider it hazard pay for her stint on Lost
8:15 - She's as shocked about winning as Sofia is! Nice two husbands line though. And you couldn't ask for a better way to celebrate an anniversary.

After the whole 2009 Kanye West/Taylor Swift fiasco, it's hard to get excited about the VMAs anymore because what could possibly top that? Last year proved that the answer to that question is certainly not "Chelsea Handler". But this year has some promise, considering there's a Hunger Games trailer, the whole no host thing and the late-breaking news that Beyonce is the first woman in the history of humanity to get pregnant. So let's watch and cross our fingers that we didn't completely waste a night on this crap.
Everyone's buzzing (or grousing) about the Emmy nominees, with most of the conversation focusing on the major categories that get all of the attention during the live telecast. But there are plenty of deserving nominees in the secondary categories (the ones usually relegated to the Schmemmys technical awards ceremony) that are worth acknowledging. Here are the ones that had us cheering the most, which is a rare occurrence when it comes to Emmy noms:
It's Emmy nomination morning, which means that instead of enjoying our relaxing mindless summer television, we instead are up in arms about who got nominated and, more importantly, who didn't. As always, the voters gave TV fans like us plenty to be happy about -- and plenty more that was just infuriating. Here's our gut reaction to who was honored and who was overlooked:
