My cup freakin' runneth over today. First my Cylon toaster came in the mail. It was my "I didn't get to go to Comic Con" present to myself. (Well, that and the "last supper" BSG poster.) Then I find out they are putting out a Battlestar Galactica board game. Now my lifelong (okay, three year long) dream of being Starbuck can finally happen... and I don't even need to go to the gym!
For a mere 40 bucks, you and your friends can sit down and pretend to be any one of ten characters, and someone is a secret Cylon out to sabotage everyone and destroy the human race. All-around awesome. The hardest part is convincing my friends to do this. The faction of my pals who like Battlestar Galactica don't really like to leave the house. And the non-BSG-junkies won't believe me when I tell them that they don't really need to understand the show to play the game. There's going to have to be a lot of explaining about Cylons and how sometimes people don't know that they're really machines. Maybe there's like a cheat sheet, because this has a lot of rules and says it takes a good 2-3 hours. Yeah... I'm never going to get any of them to participate. It's like all my other non-video games that just sit collecting dust on my shelf because they're too complicated. I may have to develop some multiple personalities -- that or try and get my two-year-old to play.
