Martha Stewart is loosening up in her old age. Either that our her daughter is drugging her food. Something. Alexis, who you may remember from The Apprentice: Martha Stewart (No? Was I the only one who watched that? Never mind. I don't want to know the answer.), is taking aim at mommy dearest in a very public forum. She and her Sirius radio co-host Jennifer Koppelman Hutt, will be analyzing Martha episodes in a Mystery Science Theater 3000 kind of way for the Fine Living Network, ripping on how she performs in certain segments and copes with guests etc...
I have Sirius, but I've never listened to their show so I am not sure if these two are funny, or if Alexis is just getting out some repressed anger from her childhood by making fun of her mother, but I think this show is a fabulous idea. I'd love it if more people took aim at their loved ones in this play-by-play kind of way. Maybe Steadman could give his perspective on Oprah episodes. Like, "Oh, she was having a bad day today, someone subbed decaf in her iced mocha latte, you'll notice less irrationally exuberant screaming going on. God, I hope she doesn't yell at me later." Or Portia de Rossi could comment on Ellen. "Ok, could she get a new dance move already? That stretched legs over the table trick is so tired. Glad she's flexible though. That comes in handy at home." They could get one of those little highlighter pens that they use in football and other sporting events and circle wrinkles or finger gestures or yawns. It could be a good time.
Now if I can just figure out what the hell the Fine Living Network is and whether I get it on my cable system, then I'm actually going to give this show a shot. She's kind of intense, so I hope she doesn't hold back. And there's always hope that she'll dish some really good dirt about growing up with Martha as a mom. No more wicker baskets, ever!
