American Idol: Who Should Get the Wild Card Spots?

While I'm slightly disappointed that the judges didn't deem Normund worthy of another performance, or didn't go back and pluck Jamar out of obscurity from the Hollywood rounds and give him another shot, I'm mostly happy with the picks for tonight's Wild Card competition. Though I really did think there would be more forgotten Hollywood people who didn't get to the semifinals... which I thought was part of the point, and I am still baffled about this whole process and why the judges didn't just randomly pick people they like and are forcing us to sit through yet another episode this week, but we're going to make the best of it. Here's who I think has the best shot.

Anoop Desai
I've been sort of smitten with Anoop since his first audition, but he was in a very tough semifinal round. Pitted against Danny Gokey and the cuddly Michael Sarver, Anoop's crooning version of "Angel of Mine" didn't earn him a spot. However, he seems to be a shoo-in for tonight. The judges like him and fans seem to like him.

Megan Corkrey
I don't get this girl, but the judges seem to fall all over themselves every time she steps on stage. She's always hunched over and she's got kind of an odd voice, but if the judges are looking for someone unique who will stand out... she could be it.

Von Smith
He commanded the stage with his performance of "You're All I Need" on Tuesday night. He wowed the judges (even though Simon taunted his look) and he's nice and fresh in their minds.

Matt Giraud
He has a good voice, but he made the moronic decision of singing Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" for his semifinal round. I find him average (and think of him as "that guy who looks like Michael Buble and Jason Segel's love child") but the panel of people who actually have a say tonight seem to adore him. So he seems like he's got a good shot.

I know only three can make it, but I feel like it's a toss-up between Von and Matt on who owns the stage and wins over the judges tonight. Ricky Braddy, Jasmine Murray and Jesse Langseth should probably just be glad that they get another chance for more national exposure, because they seem unlikely candidates to make it through unless they suddenly got incredible overnight.

And then there's Tatiana Del Toro. We're not surprised that she's back since the judges seem to have an uncanny ability to ignore her obnoxious behavior because she can sing. Which is all fine and good, but... no. There is a reason that America didn't put this girl in the Top 12 and it had nothing to do with her song choice and all to do with us thinking she's a wackadoo and not wanting to see her break down and faux-cry constantly. Please, Simon and Co., have a heart. Send this girl back to whatever planet she came from. Stat.

Who do you think will make it through tonight? Sound off below.
