When you watch the MTV Movie Awards, you can be sure of two things: 1) the producers will do everything in their power to try to entertain you, and 2) they won't always succeed. Whether celebrities are trying to be funny or simply trying to pretend they care about this perennially late-to-the-party awards show -- voted on by MTV viewers, no less -- you're pretty much guaranteed at least a dozen or so moments that make you cringe in spite of yourself. What follows are the ten most cringe-worthy moments from the May 31st broadcast, in order of how deep into our couch we tried to burrow to escape them.
Here at TWOP, we love us some Battlestar Galactica. Yes, it's dark; yes, it's depressing; yes, it's a little convoluted, but it's still one of the greatest shows on our magic picture box every week. And while the joy of it is in the journey -- from Caprica to New Caprica to Earth -- the show still manages to plant little landmines along the roadway, and when they go off, they will frak you the frak up. Resident BSG megafan Angel put together a list of the show's greatest "BOMG" moments, the ones that made us pause our DVRs for a second to let our brains cool down. Check out the gallery here!
So far, it seems like Lost is firing on all cylinders, as we're already on the third episode, and the surprises just keep on coming. No more castaways sitting on the beach discussing their feelings, crap is getting D-U-N done, and in, like, seven different decades to boot. We watched Episode 3 last night (after watching Episode 2: The Cliff's Notes Version), and we just had to gush over the five moments in "Jughead" that blew us away like a hydrogen bomb.
To celebrate the illustrious return of some of the most horrifyingly despicable people on reality television, we've dedicated this week's entire edition to the cast of Teen Mom 2 because there were just so many awful people to choose from the season premiere. Don't worry, Real Housewives and Real Worlders… we'll still have you on our radar when we return to our regular format next week.
Most awesome person of the week on reality TV easily goes to Harry Connick, Jr. who nearly single-handedly renewed our interest in American Idol with his charming antics and musical knowledge. You're a wizard, Harry. The rest of reality TV was filled with despicable morons, like usual.
New year... and a bunch of horrible new reality stars to contend with. Welcome to 2014, everyone.
We knew that those dads from Teen Mom 3 would be back on the list in no time.
