Madea Goes to Lionsgate

Madea Goes to Lionsgate

Tyler Perry, whom I always think of as The Busiest Man in showbiz, is about to get a little busier. The writer/director just signed a three-year first look deal with Lionsgate, wherein he has promised the studio three more films in addition to giving them first dibs on any other films of his within that time frame. The studio already has two upcoming Perry movies, The Family That Preys which comes out in September, and Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail, set for a February release, neither of which are included in the deal.

L.A. Fetes Kingsley-Olsen Kiss-fest The Wackness Either L.A. audiences either really enjoyed watching 63-year-old Ben Kingsley make out with 21-year-old Mary-Kate Olsen, or The Wackness is a legitimately good movie: its director Josh Levine won the audience award at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

John Oates and His Porn 'Stache Get Animated

Proof positive that the porn 'stache has reached critical mass and that the soft-rock renaissance is just getting started: according to Billboard, a cartoon starring John Oates (of Hall & Oates, duh) and his magical mustache is being shopped around to various networks. If all goes according to plan, J-Stache will focus on a buttoned up, family -oriented Oates whose infamous mustache is trying to lure him back into the rock & roll lifestyle.

Making My Musical Dreams a Reality

Yesterday I blathered on about how they could make an awesome Ugly Betty musical, and then today there's news that there is a Little House on the Prairie musical coming to a stage near you (well, if you happen to live in Minneapolis). Incredible. I'm already sitting here contemplating a trip to home of Mary Richards this summer, because I loved the Little House books (yup, I read!). When I was younger and adored the series with a passion... I still watch it sometimes if I'm home sick on a weekday. The best news is that Melissa Gilbert (aka Half Pint) is joining the cast playing Ma Ingalls, which is cool and wrong all at the same time.

Paging Dr. Cuddy . . .

Paging Dr. Cuddy . . . Holy poop you guys. Part one of the TWO-HOUR House finale is tonight. Mayjah. In light of this, I got the chance to talk with Dr. Lisa Cuddy, aka Lisa Edelstein and tried to get her to reveal some dirt about the House double-header. Here's what I learned:

1) Lisa LOVES TWOP. No joke, y'all, it's right here in the transcript: "I love that website!" We love you too, laydee.
