Doo Dee Doo Doo, Doo Dee Doo Doo

Doo Dee Doo Doo, Doo Dee Doo Doo Cue the distinctive strains of the Twilight Zone theme! According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio's production company Appian Way are in the early stages of seeking material for a feature take on one or more episodes from the classic TV series." They mean the classic classic series with the smooth intros from writer and Zone mastermind Rod Serling, and not the more recent attempts to revive the show for TV. Nor are they "seeking to remake an episodic movie," referring to the 1983 film that comprised four separate stories and made me a just little bit scared of ambulance drivers. And Dan Aykroyd. And Creedence Clearwater Revival.

QT Goes To War

QT Goes To War Yet another Hollywood director goes to war. Quentin Tarantino's long awaited World War II screenplay, Inglorious Bastards, is finally being made into a picture that may feature Mr. Angelina Jolie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harvey and Bob Weinstein have ponied up the money and Tarantino will start lensing in October. With its Dirty Dozen-type plot, Inglorious Bastards should have plenty of opportunities for its soldiers to talk about inane subjects while the universe explodes around them. With QT at the helm, the film should also be extremely violent, preternaturally profane, and narratively fractured. I'm sure QT's screenplay will pose and answer the following questions:

This Kiss…Sucks

This Kiss…Sucks

Always wanted to plant one on Angelina Jolie? Have dreams of sucking face with Leonardo DiCaprio? If you the opportunity ever arises, you may want to pass and let your wildest dreams stay just that. In Touch Weekly got the skinny on making out with a number of celebs from their co-stars, and if these actors are to be believed, not a single one was a pleasant experience. (In Touch tells you to pick up a copy of their newest mag on newsstands to read the full listing, but fear not dear readers, Defamer has them all in gory detail.)

Wipeout vs. I Survived a Japanese Game Show

Wipeout vs. I Survived a Japanese Game Show

In the battle of ridiculously stupid game shows specifically created to fill up the summer with cheap lighthearted and forgettable filler programming based on popular Japanese-style game shows where people do stupid stunts, there is no clear winner. Well there is, but it is Ninja Warrior on G4 and it is actually a Japanese game show. As far as these new knockoffs on ABC, there's good and bad about both of them, but I can't really see either of them sticking around for all that long. That won't stop me from trying to determine which one will reign supreme based solely on their premiere episodes, however.

It’s As Simple As ABDC

It’s As Simple As ABDC

In the world of dancing competitions shows So You Think You Can Dance is my first love, but America's Best Dance Crew is moving up and finishing a close second lately. The thing that I enjoy about both of them? Aside from the fact that they both involve Shane Sparks... is that they expect their people to be talented and rise to challenges, unlike say Dancing With the Stars where the celebrities need to be coddled until they are passable, or Master of Dance where the talentless are celebrated for merely being able to shake their ass to the tune of the music. On my favorite shows nobody contenders become household names by seriously tearing up the dance floor.

Middleman: Better Than Middling

Middleman: Better Than Middling

I am highly skeptical of anything on ABC Family. While I have never actually watched an episode of Wildfire, something tells me I would not like it, because I am not a 13-year-old girl. Granted, there are a few syndicated shows there that I will admit to having watched in the past, but my point is that ABC Family shows are cute and family-friendly and more or less harmless. (Although as a parent I would look askance at certain episodes of Smallville.) So why the hell do I like The Middleman so much?
